It's been about 2 months or so and now I have my Resperonics Bi-PAP-Auto. My pressure setting as prescribed from my doctor is 17/11.
I have used it for 4 nigts and a short nap. Total of 33.8 hours on it.
I went from not being able to tolerate a CPAP from 10 years ago to falling asleep in about 20 min or less the past for nights.
I can not begin to thank everyone on this site for thoughts and suggestions.
I know it will work for me but man I'm just really tired today at work. I'll keep in touch and thanks a bunch . . . . . . . . .when should I start feeling good?
Finally got the new machine!
Isn't that unit wonderful? I love mine!
Your results will vary based on the level of your accumulated sleep debt. For me, I was able to stop taking my prescription Provigil after a couple of weeks, although I still take it to drive long distances. (I have been on the bipap just over 3 months).
If you have been suffering with untreated apnea for 10 years, it will take a while to get back to normal! However, you should start seeing some improvement soon.
Do you have the software? It has really helped me understand my therapy better.

Congratulations on restarting cpap therapy! I agree with you...lots of help and support here.
As to feeling better, everyone varies. From reading the posts here and talking with four friends who are on cpap, it goes from feeling markedly better nearly overnight to three to four months for improvements to really kick in. Stick with it, and know that your are doing an excellent thing for your long term health.
Good luck!

Getting old doesn't make you 'forgetful'. Having too damn many things to remember makes you 'forgetful'.
Moogy,
What is provigile?
Yes the machine is wonderful. The 10 year fight to use one is now over.
My little boy keeps asking. "Daddy what that for, what that for?" I laugh and just tell him it helps daddy sleep.
I hope that others who are having troubles can get the help and the equipment they need.

Provigil is a prescription "wake-up" medicine. Since it is a stimulant, I don't want to use it excessively. It has probably saved my life a few times, since it kept me awake while I was driving long distances. Sleepy driving was the symptom that scared me into getting my apnea problem checked out.MrSleepy wrote:Moogy,
