First of all, let me tell you that I do NOT know what the current ResMed internal Software version is. I have not kept up with it in a while & the last one I knew about was 0905.

And I am NOT saying that 0907 is not the most current version.

However, I can tell you that ResMed will lie through it's teeth & tell you whatever they think will quickly get rid of you.

On many more than 1 occassion, I have been told that XXXX was the latest version, when I knew in fact that YYYY was the latest version.

Plus, most of the techs who answer the phone do NOT really know what the Software Version is in the machines currently being manufactured.

So, even if 0907 IS the Version in the machines currently being shipped to DMEs, ResMed has kept those machines in its own warehouses at least 3 months.

So, the CURRENT Software Version may be 0908, 0909, 0910 (You get the picture).

When I exchanged my brand new S9 AutoSet for one with a more current Software Version, they had to actually get it from the location where it was manufactured. Those machines were NOT yet being shipped to DMEs.

OK...Can someone tell me what difference the firmware number makes? My S9 is 0903. What does a 0907 do that my 0903 doesn't do.

I can't answer your specific Question, but here is a little history recap from my Numerous contacts (telephone & E-Mail) with ResMed.
I am getting ready to pack to go out of town overnight & can't find all of my notes at the moment - so all of this is from memory.

I spoke to just about everybody who was anybody at ResMed.

My highest contact was with a "Manufacturer's Rep" who apparently had quite some authority & "ordered" some others to find & release the information I sought.

All of the information I received from ResMed was confirmed twice more with some other person (3 times in total).
When they gave me the same information 3 times, I accepted that it was the correct information OR they were such good liers, I would get no further.

Now, don't get me wrong.
I am of the "opinion" that NObody outside of ResMed knows EXACTLY what is in each successive Software Version. I certainly don't - even with my numerous contacts with ResMed.

But, if "I" were buying a ResMed today, I would do every thing I could to get the latest Software Version. They ain't changing the Software just for the hell of it. Others feel that having the latest Software is not that important & I am not going to try to convince them otherwise.

Now, you are going to be disappointed, because after that lengthy start, my comments are going to feel inadequate to you.

Somewhere between the 060X and the 0903 versions:

(1) They fixed the problems a lot of people were having with the ClimateLine Hose overheating. Apparently ResMed replaced LOTS of ClimateLine Hoses AND even the entire Humidifiers when people were getting a certain error code. Turns out the overheating was being caused only by a combination of the ClimateLine hose being covered or the room temperature being way too hot (or both of those).
ResMed's fix was to only get rid of the error code.
There is a safety feature that shuts the heat down when it reaches X temperature anyway - so the error code was really not needed.

(2) People using a Full Face Mask could now use the AutoStart feature.

Both of those updates were NOT done in the same Version.
Each was done in a different version.

I am told that either the 0904 or the 0905 version had some "major" changes - but I have never been able to get any real details.

My knowledge stops at Version 0905

See - I told you you would be disappointed.

I think you can be happy with having the 0903 Version.
I assume your Serial Number is 2X11 & it was probably manufactured in October or November 2011 (or maybe even a little earlier).

An 0905 Version was probably manufactured in 2012 - but I can't be more exact than that.

I agree with this. I've never seen an Autoset or VPAP Auto with higher than 0907. The current VPAP Adapts have a different numbering sequence now for the 36037 that is SX474-1102. Latest thing I have seen on VPAP Autos is a new model number of 36006A. But even those had the 0907 software.

Yea, I'm so glad you asked first! I was just going to post the same question but I thought everyone knew the difference!

THANKS

I deleted the oversized & blurry picture in my previous reply to you.
So now, only your resized & infocus picture remains.
