Resmed S9 Elite Humidifier

Recently I've noticed that the water in my humidifier hasn't seemed to go down by morning. Usually the level had dropped a noticeable amount. Also, I checked and the bottom of the humidifier was not warm, while I think I remember it being warm in the past.

Am I correct? Do the humidifier tank and bottom get a bit warm? Does it seem as I might have a problem with the humidifier? Anyone else ever experienced this.

The humidifier heats up as needed, depending on ambient humidity in the room.
Mine cycles on and off, as it should. Less water is used when the room air is humid already.
I keep a cheap hygrometer near my machine, so I will have an idea if I am using a lot or a little water.
In winter, when the air is dry, the end panel on my H5i is nearly always warm, and I may run very low by morning.

You are correct, the plate and bottom of water reservoir do get warm, but with this set up, as CF stated it senses the humidity in the room. You will find it actually cool sometimes, pretty warm other times, esp right after you preheat.
Most people say this humidifier uses much less water than the previous ones.

I'm wondering if you felt any dry feeling this morning, or did you feel you had adequate humidity?

@djd52 I haven't noticed any dryness in my nose or throat at all, but noticed that for the first time since I've had the machine (coming up on 2 years in November), it hadn't seemed to use any water. I'm in CT, and we do get muggy, humid summers, but it's been cool and dry lately. I'll have to keep an eye on it. Thanks for the comments.

Thank you for answering that question.
I asked because I was switched a month ago to Auto and using this humidifier. I haven't been able to get enough humidity and if the water level goes down, it's so slight I can't see the difference. I am in Pa, but this area isn't as humid as more southern/lower regions of Pa and it hasn't been humid here lately. I've tried diff settings, a new humidifier, so last try is a new climate hose. Hoping that does it.
