My first Climateline hose bit the dust somewhere around 2 years in. I don't even know where the break was located. Still have the broken hose, & some day I will figure out what happened to it, when I have some extra time. I keep an extra back-up hose and mask, just in case it happens again. I agree, ResMed engineers need their heads examined for putting the exhaust on the BACK of the machine, causing extra stress on the hose connections at the end. A swivel connector might help, maybe someone can lab-rat that. I have to keep my machine sideways on the nightstand, and can never see it sideways, and print is so small I can't see it without my glasses, so I don't even look at the screen anymore.

The tear happened to mine at the other end to the machine. The end that connects the hose to the mask. Anyone know why that happened? Same reason? Will vetwrap help with avoiding that problem?

Ok, I'm on the hunt for vetwrap in Australia. Pretty sure the saddlery shops will sell it. Do I wrap both the hose and connector on each end? Will this keep the join between the hose/connector stable and reduce pressure on the hose and therefore reduce incidence of tears? Sorry for all the questions. I think it is tricky being in Australia because things are named differently and we don't have the same stores.

Ok, for those of you in Australia it is available in some pet stores and vets and at saddlery shops.
$4.95 a roll at Horseland.

Wrap both ends of your hose, takes the strain of off the end.

Search uncle bob's post about airplane tape. Hose+airplane tape
I ordered it on the net....great tape

Put it on both end to reinforce

Edit
It's called F4 tape
Sold at auto repair shops but I got on amazon

I put it on any NEW hose to prevent it from ripping.
But if its already ripped this will repair it.

This tape is great even used it on a broken outdoor garden hose and after two years I'm still using that hose.

I wrapped it around the rubber and onto the hose an inch or so, to stiffen the weak joint.
I tore both of my hoses at the mask end, while trying to change masks in the middle of a hard night's "sleep".
I was too sleepy, too careless, and clumsy as a toad.
Of course, I'm fairly certain this is what the designers had in mind.

Many of us hang onto our hoses longer however, especially the heated ones like the ClimateLine since they cost so much more.

I think if you got a year out of the ClimateLine, that's great!

I replace my ClimateLine around 8-9 months and the regular white Performance hoses (when I use them) at 6 months (since at $12 or so they are cheap).
That made a lot of sense

The gray cuff (vinyl or rubber--who knows?) tends to get hard and less "grippy" after several months.
Eventually it will stop holding or even split. You want a spare, as these things ALWAYS happen on the weekend.

I also got a small tear in my climateline hose in the same area after about 8 months of use. I had a spare on hand, so I swapped it out. My insurance (Medicare) allows a new hose every 3 months.

Yes, I noticed when trying to catch up on unread threads that several posts on different threads by the same poster had been deleted.

Yeah, busy little creature, eh?
The comment looked legit; and we all know some noobs go way back.
Not sure about this one. Many faces, it appears to have.
Deletions reveal segmented thought processes. Or just a brain worm.
