Home Care Provider Step-Up Instructions?

Post by Hawkeye » Fri Jun 09, 2006 6:53 pm

I ordered and received a Respironics APAP with C-Flex and humidification. I read the User's Manual and it has a warning about "home provider setup" and following the not-included "Home Care provider Instructions".

I don't have a "home provider" is there anyhting magical that I am missing or can I setup this machine and begin to use it knowing my prescribed presuure from the sleep study?

Since no one here can provide a valid prescription for the equipment, I don't see how they are pratcing without a license.

Help groups exist every just about everything and you get out of them what you do based on a grain of salt.

I'm glad you have had a great Dr. experience and had no issues with your issues.

Mine so far has provided Nothing except ordering a study taken more than a week ago and has yet to provide any info on what was found.

I know I have a problem and I know it is serious but so far .... nada...

I see nothing wrong from getting help from others who have more experience with the same types of conditions...

If you are so well informed and so happy with your medical advice, why are you posting here?

If you knew anything about anything, which it plain you don't, this is a forum not a chat room, did Mommie just get you a computer, or you just found a library for the first time.

We spend our time here, not to cause trouble, like you, because you are lost and don't have anyone to play with.

We just try to help others who have been shortchanged, by out healthcare systems. I doubt you have or have ever suffered from Apnea, I believe your problems go a little deeper than not sleeping.

I'm glad we could brighten your drippy day. Jim

Re: Providers/Chat Room

[quote="booty1996"]Interesting site. I orders some hoses and filters from CPAP.COM several months ago and noticed the cpap chat room. Had some spare time tonight so took a look through. I rely heavily on my Dr. and yes I am an informed from reputable sources, which obviously leaves out chat rooms. Looks like there are a lot of people looking for free medical advice and getting it here, but obvilusly from people practicing medicing without a license. I have been using a Remstar Auto with heated huimidifier for over three years with great results. I ordered the machine through a respiratory supply provider with a correct prescription that was done after the results of my sleep study were reviewed. Because everything was done correctly, including a pre authorization from my insurance company I had no problems with insurance paying for it. Also, I sleep great now. I have no problem paying for good advice. What I see on this site is mainly BS posted by people that, in most cases are clueless. No I am not employed in the medical industry or anything related to it. I simply want the best medical care, and I have a very good rapport with my Dr., as I understand that he is looking at what is best for me. Yes Drs. are concerned about getting sued, etc., and they should be when they do in fact not follow protocol (like issuing a prescription based on a five year old sleep study). If you guys want to experiment with your health go for it - I will rely on the advice of my Dr., but do discuss options with him.

Sorry if my post insulted you Kay because it was not intended to. Goofproof made reference to a young kid basically trolling and I agreed. Typically some younger people will troll message boards for thrill just as some people made joke phone calls back in the day when calls couldn't be traced and computers were way into the future. Booty 1996 just happened to fit the profile IMO.

Sounds like Jim struck a nerve and chased booty away
I really hope Booty does come back because the really ignorant can be fun to play with!
Although Jim I might have to disagree with you about Booty not having OSA, his/her brain definitely shows that it has been starved of o2.
So if you are going to preach that "practicing without a license crap"
I think Booty has a licence to practice crap

I think Booty was looking for an ED website when he stumbled in here by accident. I think the "rainy night' remark was just code for the plumbing not working. He's really got plenty of time on his hands at night. It's sad really.
