Sleeping pillow

Post by SaltyDawg » Mon Aug 19, 2013 6:07 pm

I'm a newbie trying to find a way to sleep with a CPAP mask. I have slept on my stomach for decades and find it pretty much impossible to break the habit. Of course, the mask gets in the way and gets pushed aside, leaks etc. I'm considering a CPAP sleeping pillow and would like recommendations. I need a pillow that isn't too tall-- just had two vertebrae fused.

Thanks, Julie! Unfortunately, I don't have a foam mattress. It does seem kind of radical but, if it works for you, GREAT!

I've been using the Contour Pillow (sold at cpap.com, amazon and some Walgreens that sell medical equipment) for a few years. It's a memory foam pillow and it takes some getting used to because it's hard. I like the cutouts for side sleeping and the support for the neck. Works for me.

saltydog, by any chance do you have a foam PILLOW? I cut mine to look like the cpap pillows on the web, and I have no more problems with leaks when on my side. kind of radical, but i knew i loved the pillow and didnt want to give it up. besides, it was cheaper than buying one! besides, it has a ridge on the bottom to support my neck.

Instead of trying to change the way you sleep, you might try a Sleepweaver mask. You can sleep on your stomach with the fabric mask squished into the pillow and it still works fine. They now have both nasal and full face models. You can get them mail order with a 30-day return if not fully satisfied, so you might just want to try one out.
