Has anyone tried these mask liners . . .

Post by rd1978 » Sun Aug 18, 2013 4:36 pm

I've been researching various types of mask liners, mainly to find a way to reduce leakage, and I came across a company called Gel United. (If this is old news, please forgive me.)

Anyway, the concept behind the product seems to make a lot of sense. Here's their web site: http://www.gelunited.com/CPAP-Mask-Liners.htm. It includes a video. I'd love to know if anyone has any experience with their product.

They seem kind of expensive but might be worth checking out if one is struggling with massive leaks.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Thanks for all your responses. I did consider REMZZS but after more research, I think the one from Quietus (http://www.quietusliners.com/) looks like it might be an even better product.

I just ordered the Cpapseal (gel) 'liner' (it's not so much a liner to me as a different interface) but won't have it til sometime in Sept. for some reason. I basically want to try it because every time I try to sleep on a side or back, my mask immediately develops big leaks and embarrassing noises, and I'm hoping the gel seal can make a difference, plus it's also supposed to help with air going into your eyes. I'll let you know how it works once I try it out.

Cpapseal and Gel United are the same company. This is the liner that appears to be the best one of all (at least in theory). Please let us know what you think of it once you get it.

These worked great for me and you have nice soft microfiber cloth between the mask and your skin instead of more nasty silicone...

I looked at those but feel that Quietus has created an even better solution. Here's their video if you're interested:http://www.quietusliners.com/whycpaplinerswork.html

I watched the video, and don't agree that Quietus liners are necessarily "better." Padacheek liners attach to the mask with velcro fasteners, so they don't move, and they do it without any kind of a "tacking agent" (translate = some kind of glue or chemical) that I would have to be convinced is not harmful to the silicone mask cushion. Padacheek liners can also be washed and reused until (I guess) they fall apart, which has yet to happen to any of my 2+ year old liners.

I am not a shill for Padacheek, but have used several of her products with 100% satisfaction. (I have never received anything from Padacheek other than a "Thank You" for my purchases.)

My leakage problem was solved by wearing goggles. No longer a problem. You can find them at CPAP.com

I tried the goggles--not my size.
I tried the Gecko--did NOT work; not for me or the soldier I gave it to.
Pad-a-cheeks helped, but I got used to the silicone, so it's no longer an issue.

remzzz's, Quietus & others are probably a wonderful product... but the bottom line for me is performance & cost.

Remzz's & Quietus liner can move inside your mask during the night... Pad-a-cheek do not.

11 months ago, I paid $36 for 2 pad-a-cheek liners and they are still in use today with no sign of them needing replacement.

Remzz's & Quietus liners are not re-usable & the last time I checked, a 30 day supply of remzz's is $29.95.

if I used remzzz's over the same 11 month period, I would have spent over $320 out of pocket.

it's a no-brainer for me... pad-a-cheek works!

I tried Remzzzs and they worked ok. I let the DME bill insurance company and they are coded the same as a cushion, $109.00 was billed to the insurance and it was adjusted to $74.99. I had not reached my copays yet so I had to pay $74.99 for something that I could purchase for $24.99 locally.

I learned how to get used to the mask and will not spend another penny with the DME.
