If they did, and even if it was a "mistake", tell them very strongly that you do NOT expect that to ever happen again.

NO ifs, ands, or buts ! !
thank you. The mask cushions were just in a sandwich plastic baggy. Do the ResMed replacement cushions not come in manufacturer packaging? I am having a hard time believing that this was an accident.
They are supposed to come in a SEALED manufacturer package.......... if they were in a baggy, then they knew damn well that they were not new. Pillows and cushions usually come 3 different sizes WITH the mask and each are in a sealed package. Some DMEs are big cheaters and take out the extra pillows that come with a mask and only give you the size you use. They will sell you the pillows that they "stole" from the mask and get extra $$$$$$$
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

Here's a link to an EBay seller...your cushion for your Mirage FX
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Sealed-Resm ... 3cd458ccd6
So you can clearly see what the manufacturers packaging looks like when the cushion is sold separately.

Smelling of smoke and disinfectant....not good and I am not so sure I would be all that forgiving about the "mistake"....they knew exactly what they were doing.
Even if you get them to give you new sealed packaging...they will turn around and do this same thing to someone else and I am kinda funny about that sort of thing....I don't know if I would want them to make any money off of me.
But changing DMEs can be a PITA so I understand the reluctance.
Up to you on how you feel about it...I have been known to cut off my nose to spite my face on occasion but I felt very righteous when I did it.

Cushions could be loose (for a variety of reasons - but NONE I agree with) & still be brand new.

But, "I" never accept anything that is not in the sealed manufacturer's bag.
That includes even separate Headgear, separate Chinstrap, etc.

If the DMEs quit doing some of the things they do, they would NOT have any loose items.

That's what I was trying to tell you guys... sealing something in a sandwich bag is a sign of malfeasance, not a mistake. God, I hope at least the sandwich bag was new. OP: Did you notice any tuna fish or peanut butter smells on your cushion??? Sorry, that was a little disgusting. Mea Culpa

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Exactly. I was almost going to get an item from my local DME instead of our host because BCBST "magnanimously" decided to count this year's office-visit copays towards my deductible. But... since I fired them for playing the "sandwich baggie" game guess who's getting the order the next time there's a free shipping weekend
When in doubt, open the case. Remember: If you can't open it, you don't own it!

Prescribed APAP range - 6-10 cm/H2O, titrated at 8.
Current range - 9.0-11.5 cm/H2O - still searching for the magic "zero night" but averaging 2.2 AHI

I'm interest to hear what they say. I would be very straightforward with them--"I'm going to have trouble trusting your company in the future if this is the way you operate. What can you do to reassure me that this will never happen again?"

They come sealed in a manufacturer bag unless robbed from a package that contains a full mask setup.
Clearly stating manufacture name

Sealed in a baggie...no telling where that cushion had been or how long it had been out there.

Perhaps this was as mentioned above, "robbed from a package that contains a full mask setup," and someone has been slipping a smoke in the supply room.

What Jan said (when she wasn't knitting).

Let them know you notice these things and they are unacceptable.
