You are not doing yourself any favours by having your location the way it is. Leave it blank if you don't wish to tell anyone your location.

You really need to work on how you write. It is extremely hard for people to try and work out what you are saying.

Are you asking people to donate a cpap machine to you?

Medicare will always replace a broken machine, no matter where it is in the five year cycle. In fact now, one must have a way to say that the machine is not functioning correctly to have it replaced. HOWEVER: One must start making the co pays again, which are now huge given the new rules. Is it that the DME is trying to charge you the co pays again? Also I think that Medicare can be sticky about who qualifies for a bi level machine. Is the loaner really a new machine? And lastly, Medicare rules say it is a 13 month rent to own. Meaning they say it is a rental but at the end of 13 months you own the machine.

Yes, colorful, interesting read, and I sympathize, but if you need help, maybe a shorter note, more to the specific point of what you want would help your cause.

@this-sucks,

If you are just writing to complain, that's good.

ImageWe all need to do that from time to time.

And we're here for you.

ImageBut sometimes it seems like you're asking for specific help.

We are really trying, but we are having trouble understanding you.

ImageIt may have to do with your sleep or other medical reasons you talked about.

Do you have a friend or family member living with you?

ImageIt may help us if you ask him or her to write your thoughts for you more clearly.

You would not be the only person who is in this situation on this forum.

ImageIf you cannot ask a friend to write for you, we might understand you better if you use short sentences.

I think he is doing the best he can with writing. This-sucks, I hope someone here has a machine they can donate to you. Sounds like you are not in a financial position to pay the medicare copays required to get one through medicare. Is that right? How much are the copays each month?

I think you need to figure out why you are having problems that are causing the machines to need constant repairs. Are you over cleaning or knocking it off the nightstand or what? Unless you solve that issue another machine is only going to be a very temporary fix at best.

I am sure this_sucks needs help, but I cannot contribute anything useful to this thread.

I can't understand what he's talking about.

Medicare got him a machine but it's broken or something?

So if it's broken, call 1-800-MEDICARE and explain how a DME gave you a broken machine, and ask for help getting a replacement or a different DME. Easy.

thanks for your consideration time and reading this
I'm going to take a guess and say you are probably looking for someone to donate or maybe loan you a previous generation PR BiLevel (BiPAP) machine. That's going to be a stretch because those machines are expensive and if anyone is upgrading to the new models they could get some serious dollars for their old one (depending on blower hours and condition), not to mention that's a small group of members who'd be able to do that. Anyway, I hope it works out for you and you get the machine you need one way or another. Keep us updated, please.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

It sounds like a lot of his problems are finance related, he's fortunate to have a computer and internet access, if I had finance problems I'd be cutting things that weren't life needs out of my life. Jim

I might even be forced to cut out beer and drugs, and cable tv.

Cutting off internet doesn't mean he can't be using a friend's internet connection or his phone or even be at a library. We get 50% discount with unlimited data through my husband's work on our phones.

Don't be so quick to judge. It also looks like his post was written with Voice Recognition Software. I use Dragon Speaking a voice recognition processor and a lot of his 'oddities' in his post sound like VRS

That's unfair to Dragon VRS. I use that program and am using it now. It does take some time to train it and myself in how to work "correctly." Then it takes some time to be able to get our thoughts down on paper in a logical way. As an editor, I know that not everyone is able to write well. However, I hope I am tolerant of what I read. I believe that the wonderful people on this board have provided some very good advice, although we all need to recognize that a solution is not going to be straightforward because of the type of machine.

this_sucks, have you tried asking anyone in your local community for help? Maybe your sleep center, your doctor, or someone in your church may be able to help you? I know not everyone goes to a church, but I have to believe that there would be someone in your community who would be willing to help you. You just have to find that person. I do wish you good luck with that search.
