So glad you felt comfortable enough to post here. Most people here are kind and considerate. Some people have more knowledge than others... sometimes they are on line and sometimes they aren't. You have received some really good information here, and I'm sure others will chime in. Hang in there! Welcome to this forum.

Re: Sleapy head what ???????????
backtracking to answer you have sensitive o a disorder i forgot hyper sensitivity to everything skin my nose has deep dents from the masks i tried i had severe infected hole that left a dent so i have no choice but the fit life complete face maskDreamDiver wrote:I'm actually kind of amazed that you're having such large leaks with a total-face mask. But I've not used one of these, so I don't know how well they fit. I wonder if your straps are too loose or too tight. Either way, if this is normal for you, have you considered trying a new mask?
is my only choice went through wow lost count 20 or more masks lost count
as for tight the top straps almost touch in back has had to be that tight for as long as i have used fit life series i know its supposed to puff like a pillow or some crap like that but i found it would come loose in the night and wake u with chatter
its far from fun i have unheard of fibro sensitive points up there and makes face red but its sealed i check and wash me and mask at night for good seal i can dig my finger between face and mask and not get air untill the seal breaks it hurt the ears but i grab the front and pump it a time or two that helps
so like i said has to be machine

There's a lot to learn. But you can take it as slowly as you need to. By the way, we're pretty patient with new members who ask the same question more than once. We all know what it's like to be sleep deprived and cranky and not at our best in terms of learning stuff.this-sucks wrote:thank you very much for the kind easy to follow information its still confusing but i am getting the importance of leaks and effects on threapy
Please check out my thread at viewtopic/t72302/Respironics-Confusing- ... wbies.html to figure out whether your biPAP is a Series 50 or a Series 60. Since you've had at for three years, my guess is that it's a Series 50 System One BiPAP Auto. Check the pictures in the above link and fill in your profile. It will save time when you are asking for help because you won't have to keep telling us over and over what machine you have.my machine is here it is straight off the machine
ok the front Philips Respironics bipap auto biflex
bottom same bipap auto REMstar heated humidifier
What keeps happening to the machines???? Are you by chance pulling them off the table at night in your sleep?humidifier has broken door still seems to seal it was making lots of different leak noises but cut a plastic piece out and duct tape seems to seal but prob not a good one
main machine humidifiers malfunctions wont run it second bad main board it has a tend to eat cards shut off etc like said it needs a 3rd repair im on medicare but now after two they want cahs for 3rd repair temp mach when medicare covers it
No, the mask does NOT need to be so tight as to trigger headaches---even with a beard. There are men on here who have full beards and can seal their masks without overtightening them. I suggest that you post a thread with the title: Need tips for sealing mask with full beard. In the first post you need to tell people what kind of mask you have.it has to be the machine like i said mask is so tight even with beard i feel no leaks
To start with: Does your mask cover just your nose? Or does it cover both your nose and face?
This is not a standard set up. Where did you get the filter? Many of us do have allergies, but the filters in the back of the machine are usually enough to take care of pollen, pet, and dust allegergens.i have a filter between mask and hose due to allergies it just slows air and water no leaks in plastic or connections
Just like your many other medical condititions, OSA takes some effort to manage it well, but the payoff in terms of improved daytime functioning is worth it. The hard thing for you is that you've got so many conditions, any one of which would be difficult enough by itself. But ce la vie.now i know what why and all and that my ap could be managed better wont be miricals from day one its never been perfect but it did help a small bit more than it does now
Again: Exactly what happened to break the machine? Has the DME told you why they will not fix the machine?i am screwed though im only at my 3 year mark and it has to be 5 to get new machine and no one will fix this so i may just be stuck or more super glue and duct tape
Lots of folks have bad experiences with lots of forums. We're a lively bunch and quite opinionated. But (and it's an important but) we don't like to blow off people who are in obvious pain and need. Many of us don't particularly trust the system all that much because of personal experience. Many of us realize we're blessed with a wonderful DME or a great doctor and we know that our experience is not typical of the average OSA patient.alright just help nothing rude or other crap i have never trusted a forums with this
But we do try to help people. Sometimes we can come across as a bit heavy-handed: We don't mince words when we see someone who is persistently undermining their own health interests or who persistently refuses to even consider the advice we offer.
There are reasons why your typing and thinking gets scrambled. We deal with that. But at the same time, you will need to work within your own known limitations. If a particular post strikes you as "wrong", don't respond right away. Let it slide for a while. Go back and reread it or just ignore it completely.and lastly my typing my thinking etc it gets scrambled dont see full posts unless i read a bunch and gets messed from thinking to post plus just post without thinking always have same in life
And take the time to re-read posts that are teaching you new information more than once. There's a whole language that you don't know yet because you are new to the forum and your sleep medicine team has not been particularly helpful in educating you about your OSA.
I'll write more later about the multiple problems and meds and how they might be influencing some of what's going on in your sleep. But I gotta go to supper and hubby is taking me out to eat.
so thanks[/quote]

I'd really check into your filter setup, it doesn't sound right at all and might be causing inferior therapy and breakages.

There is ADHD and then there is "cutting off your nose to spite your face". I came close to thinking "troll pulling our leg" except that there is a certain consistency and similarity to speech patterns of people I have known in soup kitchens and phone counselling. The need to blame and put down those that offer help is common.

Could be that the OP is doing the very best he can. He also apologized several times. A wait and see approach is not out of order.
