AHI and Time of CPAP

Post by jrfoster » Tue Jul 23, 2013 8:57 pm

Just curious to know what the average AHI is for people in the forum, and the length of time on CPAP. Is there a correlation or is all just a crap shoot?

I have been on CPAP for 7 years. My AHI goes from 0.9 up to 4.3. My average for the month is around 2.7

I just got the report for the last 50 days and I am averaging at 6.5. I started on Bilevel cpap April 30th of this year. I go for my 2nd sleep study next Wednesday.

I've only been on CPAP for about 5 weeks, but I have similar AHI levels. I don't have the details with me, but from memory, my lowest has been around 0.9, and highest 4.8. I'm also interested to know how this compares to the results from the sleep study - has being on CPAP delivered a significantly different result?

I've been on cpap or bipap since 2007. I was put on bipap in 2010, and since then have averaged 8 or so a night. I went back and forth with the DME because I didn't think that was good enough, but they view anything under 10 as OK.

Right now I'm struggling with a super high AHI post-surgery, so I would kill for that 8 right now!

On CPAP 7+ years. Originally titrated to 9 and they set it at 10. Needed more like 11-12. Last titration few years ago was 12, currently using 13 with an AHI 0.3 - 1.9 most nights. Hit an occasional 0 night, very rarely over 2.
