Problems with New APAP

Post by CheBella » Fri Jul 19, 2013 8:35 pm

My handsome new auto bi-level is not working correctly. Actually, I think he has had the problem ever since I got him, but I was too stoopid to realize what was wrong.
I bought him outright on cpap.com. My sleep doc refused to have an RT check him out & adjust him when he found out that I wasn't going the route of renting from his favorite DME. (He even sent the Rx to them after I had told him that I was buying it at cpap.com & asked him to send it there.)
My old bipap was a dumb brick & I had never used apnea software before, so I didn't know what to expect.

My regular bipap setting is 11I/7E. After I got him & Pugsy showed me where to go to adjust him, I set him up with a little leeway on either side.
When I would the data, the pressure chart showed that he would just go up to the max & stay there.
There is only one line on his pressure chart, no separate lines for I or E.
When I tried higher max levels, he would just go to that max & stay there.
Basically, he's acting like a plain CPAP -- neither exhaling nor adjusting.
I do have him set to auto bipap
When I use him, I feel better than using nothing, but it's nothing like the way I used to fell after even 2 hours with my sweet ol' dumb brick.

What to do?

I am not familiar with the Devilbiss Bilevel machine.

Do you have any other settings available in Auto bilevel mode besides IPAP and EPAP? If so, what are those settings?
