Encor Viewer on Windows 7 , 64 bit

Post by Bob_w » Tue Jul 16, 2013 5:12 am

I just got a new computer with Windows 7, 64 bit. Encore Ver 1 worked on my Windows 7, 32 bit machine. I have tried to use the program compatibility setup and had no success.
Can it be made to work on a 64 bit machine? Also I could not get EncorePro v. 1.8.49 to work.

Thanks
Bob

EncoreViewer 1.0 won't install on a 64 bit computer but it will run just fine on it if you bypass the installer.
The problem is the installer.

If you still have access to the old 32 bit computer you can just copy the installed Viewer program to a disc and manually transfer it to the 64 bit computer.
Open the main folder and find the application.exe file and create a shortcut to where ever you like to have shortcuts and then you use that shortcut to open and run the program.

I will send you a private message in a bit and get you something that will install on a 64 bit computer.
It's a newer Encore software and if you ever get one of the newer machines it will work on it also.
Your reports will be the same. They didn't change anything with the reports that your machine offer.

I have received a link to Encore Basic, which works great.

Thanks

I have the same issue. I have I believe the original version of Encore basic ver 1.0.0.003 from 2007. I tried to copy the folder to my Win7 machine and run the EncoreViewer.exe file. I skip over the warnings, but end up with a sort of blank splash screen. I paid a lot for this program. Can I get a newer version? Thanks ... Aaron

P.S. I use a Respironics BiPap Auto M Series with heated humidifier from 2009

EncoreBasic was brand new just last year so it is doubtful that you have it.
You probably have Encore Viewer 1.0.
I don't remember if it will work on the newer computers or not. I lost my purchased disc back in 2009.
Give me a minute and I will send you a private message with information on how to get something that will work with your machine and your computer.

Thanks! Got it downloaded (Win7) works great. Win7 didn't seem to need any driver for my smartcard. I could move the smartcard date into EncoreBasic2 no problems. A scary thing is the default checkbox to erase the card after download. This would be bad news for me. Hopefully there is a confirmation to erase the card if one hits it by accident. I have to bring my card to the doc to prove compliance because I fly aircraft. They might not be happy with an empty card. I guess I could just bring the PDF of my report though. ... Aaron

There's no second warning...so just be careful. It doesn't ask for confirmation to erase the card.
BUT if that should happen the machine does store the basic compliance usage stuff (just not the detailed stuff for the cool reports) and will put it right back on the Smart Card.
So the compliance hours of use will still be available.
