I wish I could design one mask that works for everyone all the time but lets get serious here. There are 7 billion people in the world and excluding identical twins or tripplets everyone has a different face. Typically we try to solve the biggest issues from the current market and make the mask work for most of the people most of the time. The whole 95% of the people 95% of the time. Prior to release each mask is trialed on hundreds of people for up to 90 days and it takes years to develop a mask. New concepts are thought up every day and only the best make it to market. That said, I think we can all agree there is no golden solution. In development I am limited by cost, management perception, trial reviews, cost, and time.
All that said, I am seeing bold new steps being taken in the CPAP industry. this is no longer the same industry it was 10 years ago. you the patients are having a much lounder voice in the deveolpment and selection of masks. Aesthetics and emotional apeal are FINALLY becomming more important, you can tell that by the steps that Swift, Nano, Eson, Wisp, Liberty, and other are taking to make the mask more enjoyable. We still have gaps to attend to and we are working on them as hard as we can. We cannot work on every issue so the more important one is the more you need to complain about it. My favorite saying is that necessity is the mother of invention. Thanks to everyone's help on here!
Engineer, and I'm curious if I can help
