I'm renting my machine until I find out what to get... Remstar M Auto Cflex or the S8. The current machine I have is a Remstar Auto, but there is no Cflex logo on it. I was going to add the machine to my profile here on CPAPTALK, but there is no Remstar Auto w/o cflex there. Is there such a device, or does my machine have Cflex and I just have to find a way to turn it on since the clinic didn't set it up?
Remstar Auto without Cflex?
if it doesn't have the blue C-Flex sticker on top it is probably the older model auto. The Cflex version of the auto has only been out about 1 yr if not mistaken, Cflex has been available about 5 yrs in other models.
You would have to enter the Setup mode on the machine to determine if it has the feature or not or someone removed the sticker. If your pressure is 10cm or under, you probably wouldn't notice much difference as the auto without backs off pressure as you breathe. Cflex however is more positive.

The way I understand it (and I could be wrong) is with the S8, you have to choose whether to have the auto or the exhale relief.
With a Remstar Auto with cflex (either the current model or the new M series when it comes out), you can have both.
There is nothing wrong with the current Remstar Auto with cflex. It's just is bigger and heavier than the current model. But when I travel through airports, I can easily handle it in its carry bag. And I'm just a little old lady.
I just bought my new machine rather than wait for the M series. My thinking: Why be a guinea pig for the new M series? The current machine is proven reliable.
