I have been using for 5 nights and I am still very tired thru out the day. I find my self falling asleep 2 to 3 times at work. I know the I have the mask on 90% of the night, yet I am not sure if I am seeing any benefits. My O2 is set at 2 and my CPAP is set at 10. Any reassurance that this will work would be nice.
I have now used for 5 nights and no noticeable improvements

As they say, patience is a virtue. Keep with it, and you'll see the benefits. When I started mine, it seemed like it took forever before I saw noticable benefits. I don't remember how long it took, but it was more than a week. I want to say two weeks, but don't quote me on that.
It's not a magic bullet type of thing. Your body has to adjust to sleeping with the machine. Then you've got some time to get past the total exhaustion you're in right now. It will take some nights of good sleep for your body to catch up on it's rest. Then you'll see the benefits. Believe me, in a couple weeks, you'll wonder how you slept without the machine.

Stick with it. It took me more than a month to get used to it. You're not fighting the mask like I was. Every time I started to snore (the mask was off) my wife would try to talk me into putting it back on. I guess I can carry on a pretty good conversation while sleeping. You'll start to see the improvement soon. Don't give up. Keep us posted on your progress. This is a great place to ask questions and get ideas. I wish I had found it years ago, instead of going it alone.
I have read posts where it takes months not weeks to feel the full benefits of cpap. the important thing is not to get discouraged keep at it no matter what you will feel the benefits sooner or later.
I see you have a nasal mask, are you sure your mouth is staying shut all nite? A mouth leak will basically make your treatment useless. If you wake up with a dry mouth that is a symptom of a leak.
I wear a full face mask so I'm definitely not an expert in this area but I have
read a lot of posts about the subject.

Guest brought up a point that's really crucial to good treatment. Gotta be sure you're not leaking treatment air out the mouth while sleeping.Guest wrote:I see you have a nasal mask, are you sure your mouth is staying shut all nite? The mask you're using (ResMed Activa) is an excellent one. Using an Activa almost surely rules out mask leaks. Mouth air leaks are the next thing to check.
I wish you had a machine that could provide detailed overnight data about your treatment. Getting to see info the next morning about what your AHI is, leak rate, etc. could help you see whether your prescribed pressure is "enough" to give effective treatment, whether there are massive leaks interfering with treatment, etc.
Good luck. It does take time. And sometimes some judicious tweaking.
