I need help understanding the Clear Airway reading in Sleepy Head. I always have a reading in that area, anywhere from 4 to 9 daily. Should I be concerned? My Apnea & Hypopnea readings seem to stay below a 1, but that darned Clear Airway makes me wonder whats up?? I feel rested in the morning and usually get between 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night.
Thank you for any help with this.

Clear Airway question
Re: Clear Airway question
I wouldn't be worrying about such a small number of clear airway events being flagged.
Some are going to be normal...like sleep onset centrals which just happen during sleep stage transition
and some are going to be the machine maybe flagging an awake/semi awake pause in breathing because it doesn't know if you are asleep or not....or maybe it's just a turn over in bed hold your breath "central".

check out the above thread and especially the bottom few posts..I have some examples of my reports and you will see that it is common to have a few "centrals" or clear airway events and not a big deal unless they are present in large numbers...and I have had nights where I had 25 of them totaling through the night but they were flagged by mistake while I was awake.
It's normal to have a few here and there...and if your AHI is less than 2 routinely...you aren't having much of anything going on and nothing to worry about especially since you are reporting feeling quite decent and sleeping well.

Re: Clear Airway question
Thank you Pugsy, I was hoping that was what I was seeing. I know that as I am getting used to my new Wisp nasal mask I've readjusted it when I change sleep positions to make sure it's sealed. It's really been an easy mask to get used to. When I was using my nasal pillows I would do the same thing with them, adjust whenever I changed position. I also have to wear a chin strap as my mouth relaxes open when I am asleep, this is getting much better though.
Thank you so much again for your response and helpful information.
