Respironics REMstar ResMed S9 VPAP Auto system with H5i humidifier -
whoever posted this definitely was a bit confused on the model/manufacturer of the unit, as they put two different name brands for it- it is a ResMed from the photos on the craigslist ad

Thanks! Sent an inquiry... seems a bit fishy. But you never know.

If you look up the Resmed code as in the pics it is a Vpap Adapt: http://www.resmed.com/us/products/s9_vp ... c=patients

I'm in contact with him... one reply so far... we'll see what happens. I'm in San Diego, so it'll be difficult to get an in person assessment.

That's true as far as it goes (ie. that same code appears on the back of my test machine at home). However, what I was trying to illustrate previously, is that machine photos can be downloaded/copied from many websites. However, these photos put forth don't mean that that's the machine actually for sale (if there even is a machine for sale). A few years ago I found someone in the SF Bay area who was posting pictures of a PR machine that totally and knowingly misrepresented what they were selling... that sorry SOB got caught out and flushed by yours truly. The seller may or may not be an honest individual, that's not what I'm concerned with, I'm just stating some facts I've learned over the last two years.

TIP: Finding somebody willing to sell via PayPal is also a good idea, since there is at least a basic level of fraud protection.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Yeah, he replied once, and I haven't heard back from him since asking a few more pointed questions... in particular if he accepts Paypal.

Paypal IS fraudulent, owned by the very fraudulent company, ebay. If you can pay by credit card, most credit card companies give you much greater protection. (Paypal will be biased toward the seller, whom pays the fee; lost $1,100.00 through Paypal─so much for their protection. Have been protected in numerous disputes by several credit card companies.)

I tried to buy this Vpap adapt but the person wants you to send a money order first.

He doesn't except PayPal. PayPal has always worked perfect for me on any transaction.

Buyer Beware.

I would meet in person to see vpap before any monies is exchanged.

Yeah, I'm getting the same feeling... though he does state in his terms that he wants to meet face to face with cash rather than Paypal. Many Craig's List transactions are handled this way... but still... the money order thing is a big red flag. As is the price...

You can still use your Credit Card through PayPal & have the same protection as if you used your Credit Card only

As I mentioned before, I've used Craigslist face-to-face with cash in hand several times and only one time was there a problem, however I spotted the fraud right away (this happened in a very upscale neighborhood). Another time I went into a very bad section of Oakland, CA and wished I had used Google Street/Earth view beforehand. Nothing bad happened tho and I ended up getting a very nice auto machine. Using Google maps street view, at least you can see bums standing around liquor stores, and large groups of young men loitering during the middle of the day.... hey, welcome to the new world, ya gotta be aware of your environment at all times.

Does that mean you wouldn't be interested in checking out this machine for me in person?

I've noticed that you are selling a Respironics System one ASV machine and buying a Resmed Adapt machine, I was just wondering why? What do you prefer about the Resmed machine? My DME called and they are planning on giving me a Respironics asv and thus i'm interested in why you prefer the switch. My only experience with ASV machines is with the Resmed adapt enhanced machine - the older s8-type model- which works fine with me.

You can still use your Credit Card through PayPal & have the same protection as if you used your Credit Card only
And, that will end your paypal account if they are siding with the seller.

I've used this method twice now without any backlash from PayPal because I was in the right, it was the seller who was trying to rip me off

I find most people who use PayPal (Sellers & buyers) are honest & in saying that I have been ripped off on this forum & got my money back from PayPal
