PR REMstar Pro cellular modem/SD card question
PR REMstar Pro cellular modem/SD card question
Not sure if anyone will know the answer to this, but I figured I'd ask. My DME installed a cellular modem for compliance checking on my REMstar. That's fine, I like the idea, but it covers up the SD card slot and I want to play with SleepyHead. I know how to pop the modem out to get to the card, but want to make sure that removing and reinserting the modem won't break monitoring for my Dr. and DME or even be visible to them. I would assume it's fine because it loses power anyway while the unit is unplugged unless there's some sort of internal battery backup, but wouldn't mind some expert confirmation.

Re: PR REMstar Pro cellular modem/SD card question
No, it won't disrupt the monitoring.
The cellular modem "phones home" periodically sending the data that it has since the last time it sent. It doesn't connect continually.
You can power down (remove the plug) your CPAP machine, then remove the modem and the SD card.
I do that often with my machine, and no problems.
