It started over 5 years ago....sleep apnea along with obesity. Anyway Doctors said get a CPAP or your Mother will die within a year!
I already had my machine...
So after several machines Cpaps & Bipaps, at home O2!
The machines
STOPPED working!!!!!!!!
She has a tracheostomy and I had lapband surgery...We had no one selling a machine for discount or any help. She had no insurance. Yes I can get these machines sold for a lot with online companies that will resale them for Big profit!
I only wanted to help someone who really needed a machine.
Sorry for creating so many negative comments!

You still are ...
creating so many negative comments!
$500 for a machine is hardly affordable for anyone without insurnace.

Geeezzzz.
My first thought was wow. This person is trying to make a big buck fast. Now, I'm new to using cpap but my dad used of for years and, to us, that price is steep.
However, I wondered: if you're a registered respiratory therapist (as per your signature), you already know that price is pretty steep. But ,hey, maybe I'm wrong. I am sure that as a respiratory therapist (as per your signature description) you would know more about this than I and would have been very helpful to your mom.
Good luck to both of you.
p.s. the shock and awe of your (warning!) picture of your mom was a persuasion technique that was not needed. Seriously. I may be alone in my thoughts and I'm new to both cpap and this board. Perhaps you are a regular and I don't know your "personality on this board', but that picture gave gave me the idea that you're a person who is just looking to make a quick big buck off a machine which many people here use to maintain a quality life or life itself. I take great offense to that.
AGain, I'm new here and I don't know everyone who posts here. I could be completely off mark. If so, apologize.
If I'm off mark here, I actually look forward to the reponses. Again, I'm new so comments of any kind will help me learn the ins/outs of this disease/ insurance etc

My hope is that you're Nigerian and English is not your first language.
Of course, it would not surprise me much if you're not...but one can hope.

Mahagony,
Please remove both of my offers for equipment: machines and mask, and please do not give a counter-offer as I no longer wish to do business together.
Trust your instincts doc. I agree with you in that I don't see the value of posting that picture. I am not heartless. I see trachs and vents at work on a daily basis. I truly hope your mother is doing better Mahagony but what is the significance and would your mother approve of posting that picture for public consumption on a CPAP board while trying to sell equipment to board members?
Thank you,
TheWino

You really think that scare tactic will sell your stuff.... don't think so.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

If you go to her photobucket library, you will note that most all of the pictures in it appear to for marketing purposes.
Is the pic above her mother? I don't know but at this point a really doubt it.

I suppose it could very well be somebody's grandmother.

I am thinking that the amount of for sale offers is getting a bit scary. It always pays to be skeptical of new members that only post items for sale. I have noticed that ligitament sellers have been raked over the coals a bit. I am now thinking that is a good thing. Seeing the patient that this machine came from (if real) would prevent me from buying no matter how good the offer.

I would be very pissed having my picture posted on on public forum in this condition with my chest exposed, especially my breast.
if that person is truly related to you, I feel there should be some sensitivity and dignity given to that person. I would never do that to my mom or a very close person for that matter.

This pic Is my Mother and I posted it b/c someone thought I was a dealer.
No she is not mad about the pic....I had to ask her first. She is on this site, and is always lurking.
She is just so happy to be breathing better!
We call my Mother "Nana" and my Grandmother "Nennie"
I saved the picture on my photobucket and named it Nana!
I am NOT an RRT my Husband is as my siggie states...I am the RN.
I did not do this as a tactic...the machines were sold before I posted...I wanted to just let everyone know I was a regular person. My speciality is not respiratory...Its My husbands.
