Climateline hose tears at cuff

Post by msradar65 » Thu May 23, 2013 4:08 pm

This makes hose number two. I guess I can't really complain because they are lasting a year at a time. I put some silicon tape on it until I can replace it. I have insurance but they are sooo expensive. I think I will either check out our host or check ebay. Anyone got a climateline they want to sell?

Must come from none smoking home. Pets are ok.

What I do with my climate line is support it by wrapping the ends with that stretch tape like they use at the blood bank that sticks to itself. I tape it so half is on the hose and the other half is on the hose end fitting. You can buy it at WalMart.

Do you have the Climateline regular or the Climateline MAX version (for higher pressures)? That's a good tip about wrapping a bit of the hose and half the coupling with tape or whatever... bend relief. I like the way PR generally puts the hose coupling on the top, it's a lot more handy IMO.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

if the climate line tears does it not also tear the heating conductor in it?

No is the plastic part that tears not the coils. I will have to get some of that wrap. I use that on my animals. We call it vet wrap.

Around $30, plus shipping, on eBay if you are prepared to be a little patient and wait for the right deal to come along

Cheers,

Bill

Amazing they designed a machine with a fixed hose connection at the back air outlet on the blower, which you need to bend at a severe angle up and over -- their engineers have probably already calculated after x uses, the hose will crack exactly here.... Cha-ching.

I've used duct tape for a long time. A couple wraps half on the cuff and single wrap below the first and you still have some flex but won't damage the hose. Lately I've specified the extra flexy hose which is the real solution.

It's going to be okay in the end; if it's not okay, it's not the end.

That depends entirely on where you put your machine - I certainly don't need any severe angles in my hose run.

I'm over 1000 nights with my original Climateline
