Killer headache

Post by flutterby11 » Sun May 12, 2013 7:57 pm

I have had a killer headache today, worse than I have ever it, it was beginning to worry me. I decided to lay down with my CPAP on and, it isn't totally gone, but much better. The headache was on the front and top of my head. Has this happened to anyone else?

It could be one of your sinuses is blocked. The CPAP will increase the pressure so that it is closer to the same and the pain goes down. Once you you stop the pressure, the pain comes back. Sinus pain is rarely in the sinuses and tends to be on the outside of the head. I think when the sphenoidal sinuses get blocked, the pain tends to be at the top of the head. Somewhere in my scaba training material is a nice picture of where things hurt with different sinuses. The traditional fix for scuba divers was real Sudafed but I'm not sure what is done now.

I was getting them from my sinus just below the orbit of the eye. Killer headaches, down for at least 24 hours. PCP perscribed Nasonex and that has calmed the sinus down and controled the headaches.

That makes since, thanks for the reply. My headache is gone this morning, so hopefully it won't come back.

In this condition its is important for you to take rest,Deal with it without any medication take a cup of tea or coffee close your eyes for a while and think of something nice that can help you.

Have you had any weather changes?

I get those headaches when there's rain coming or going. They are agony.

Also this might help you (if they are muscular)

I'm glad you are feeling better

For me I found its quite often associated with a sinus infection (minor or major).

A Z-pack made it go away (must have been an infection--my doctor does know something)

That since then. The pollen was quite awful, so maybe it was that. We shall see.
