Nasal Mask

Post by flutterby11 » Sun May 19, 2013 7:35 am

I am currently looking to switch from my Swift FX nasal pillows to a nasal mask. I move a lot during the night and have an average pressure of around 12. I am looking at the Mirage Ultra II, but am open for any suggestions on masks that might work. Does anyone have any suggestions or review on masks that they use, or that might work for me. Thank you so much in advance.

Everyones face is a different shape.which means what works for one may or may not work for someone else. Without seeing your face, no one can tell you what will work for you...even then, it's a matter of trying the mask with your machine running at your prescribed pressure.

I have actually tried the Mirage FX before the nasal pillows and my Husband said it was to noisy. It worked though, so it might be something he has to get used to. :/

Everyone is raving about the Wisp right now. I have a Mirage FX which I alternate with the Swift FX and love it but the Wisp might be my next mask.

I like the Wisp much better than the Mirage Fx. It is the mask I have the lowest AHI with, although I continue to battle the Swift FX because I must win! I just love nasal pillows, easier to breath.

The Activa is very very good and very comfortable. Excellent holding a seal even with movement.

That's good to know because I move a lot. I love nasal pillows but as my pressure gets higher throughout the night I can notice more leaks.

I loved my Mirage FX, but it was not kind to my nose. The bridge, or rather, an inch down from the top of the bridge, blistered and stayed sore and red. My DME said I HAD to use a different mask. After a couple different masks, I ended up with the EasyLife. Used it for 18 months with great results. Sadly, while I don't blister, my nose still has a line and is sore. Just ordered a TrueBlue Nasal and if that doesn't work too well for me, I'll try the Wisp.

Btw, my EasyLife has a Pad-a-cheek liner on it. On my face I out three RemZZZs and a Gecko nose bridge protector. Still the soreness after all these. Hence why I'm trying out using something else.
Life before my CPAP was really no life at all!
