ResScan 4.20.8 and PATIENT MANAGER

Post by empezza » Wed May 15, 2013 7:00 pm

I am using ResScan 4.20.8.5438, on a Windows 8 64-bit PC.
I do not use the default location for Patient data - I use another drive and folder.
Generally ResScan opens my patient file without any problem, but occasionally it forgets MY file location and looks in the default location, where of course there are no files.

Is anyone else having this issue?

No, but if you insist on putting it where ResScan does not expect to find it, why don't you at least put a shortcut icon to your target location inside the folder where ResScan wants to look.

Thanks for that Nate.
Is a shortcut ICON any different to a normal shortcut dragged from the Desktop?

No, I added the word "icon" only for clarity and regret it causing confusion instead.

However, I recommend using the right-click contextual menu to create Shortcuts rather than dragging.

Did you try editing your registry?
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/ResMed/ASR/DataManager -->PatientsFolder
Right Click On PatientsFolder --> Modify -->Value Data --> "Your Path"
ie: This is the default --> C:\Users\Public\Documents\ResMed\ResScan3\Patients\

This may take care of your issue or you could use the default.

Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE there is no Resmed entry.
Under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Resmed\ASR\DataManager there is no entry for PatientsFolder.

Found it under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\VirtualStore\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ResMed\ASR\DataManager\PatientsFolder and it is set to MY LOCATION, not the default.

Most of the time ResScan correctly finds it, but then a day comes along where it looks in the default folder for no known reason.
