AHI at 9.5 average after 8 days with ASV machine
I have just started this new machine and my AHI still hovers around 9. Is this normal for an ASV machine? My initial AHI in sleep study was 90.

What are your leak rates? One of the easiest ways to lower your AHI is to lower your leak rates - if you have leak. Also, some folks can easily get an AHI below a 1 and some folks have to live with higher numbers. If you are a newbie.... don't fret just yet. It may be too early.

Do you know what the break down (Obstructives, Centrals, Hypopneas) of your AHI is?

How is it now? Give it time. That's a HUGE improvement. Sometimes you need to put it in perspective and realize the big difference between initial AHI and treated AHI

Not to steal one of JohnBFisher's admonishments (paraphrase): Give the machine a bit more time to play nice with your brain before you start dial tweaking. That's a big improvement in AHI and will likely continue to get better.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

I definitely agree. We trend to see improvement over the first three months. You've probably already noted that if you don't breathe in a regular pattern, the machine will remind you to breathe. These constant reminders start to regulate your breathing. You will see a big drop in your AHI initially. Then the improvement usually continues, but at a slower rate. Improvements will continue. That's why I suggest leaving it be for the first few weeks or months.
