Travel CPAP ---Plane Trip

Next Monday, I will take my first plane trip since being on CPAP. I have traveled over the past 4 months but always in a car. Last week I ordered and received my Intellipap machine , which I plan to use for travel.

Any hints or suggestions as I prepare to travel will be greatly apprecicated.

Where do we start. First, I traveled with my Devilbis for five years ( three days a week) and have found the following:
Bring an extension cord, hotels are hit and miss for outlets.
TSA used to swab mine every time for explosives but that is not the norm now but it does happen randomly now.
Up until the last year I used a backpack because I knew TSA would take it and it was just easy to hand it to them. Of late I pack the Cpap in my travel roller bag. Hose is flat on top of shirts and mask sits in top of the Cpap protected ( have not had one break in years.
Works for me this way because its not counted as carry on.
I've never used it on a plane so I can't speak to that.
Don't know how to post a pic but its not hard to visualize.. For me anyway..

Go to the search box at the top of the page and enter "Travel".

You'll find many threads with advice on what to do (like carry the CPAP aboard) and not do (like pack your snacks in your CPAP bag).

Remember:

1) Remove all the water from the humidifier!

2) Place each component in a plastic ziplock bag;

3) Provided you put nothing but CPAP components and supplies in a separate carryon bag, announce or label it as "medical bag" and it will not count as a carryon on domestic flights. Expect them to ask you to remove and display at least the CPAP and Humidifier momentarily.
