pilairo strap breakage

Post by claysleeper » Fri Apr 19, 2013 10:12 pm

hi
I purchased an F&P Pilairo last summer - love the mask BUT I have had the strap clips break 3 times and the connecting mask clip break once. I have been very careful with my mask - always placed around the bed post, never stepped on, never put in the dishwasher etc.

My vendor replaced the strap once and the mask once, but now they are refusing any further replacements, say that it has never happened to any of their other customers.

Anyone out there having this problem?

You could try contacting F&P directly, bypassing the DME. I think they should replace it. Its their fault they decided to market a mask that is so delicate. I say that from experience, I've used that mask & its easy to stretch the strap out & I can see how breakage could occur too.

Good luck & let us know what happened with F&P if you go that route.

Jen

I have seen this happen too many times unfortunately.
I'd give it a fight to get it replaced. It should not be breaking that easy.

you should be getting replacement pillow 2 x month, new mask itself every 3 months. headgear/straps every 6 months. They usually give mask/straps together anyway. I use Pilairo too, love it but the holes that the clip fit into get stretched so they don't form a good snap within a month. Its a real shame. What i did was take off the round discs and just thread the actual straps through, wrap it around and put the velcro side down on the remaining strap. Worked great. If they won't replace call the local sales rep from the manufacturer or the manufacturer themselves and they will likely school the DME provider. Or, call your provider and he/she may set them straight.

FYI: disregard last post, I was talking about the WISP, i was sleep deprived LOL. Yes the Pilairo breaks, nothing you can do but replace. Pain in the rear but great when its working
