OT: I wish we had a "like" button

Post by pandatx » Thu Apr 25, 2013 6:55 pm

I must be just too used to Facebook (not a good thing) but there are so many times I want to just "like" someone's post...

I agree! I am a Facebook junkie and have wished we had a Like button here too
I also have used a night guard for twelve years.

Yeah, I'd use it right here.

I absolutely agree!!!

Sometimes, there's no need for a reply, but you'd just like to let the person know who posted it that it was very helpful.

Like button...like button....like button!!

I"d prefer a +1myself, and l way to mute a thread so it just disappears.

You can mark a member as a "foe" in your profile and you will not see their posts again.

But there's no way to make a thread disappear.

I am a big fan of the like button too! There are times I don't have time to respond to a post, or the right words are eluding me as they so often do, but would really like the author to know I liked it! Like Pandatx's post about "stay in your lane" post, thanks so much for that one!

I don't think this forum should turn into a popularity contest. If someone has a brilliant idea or suggestion, the positive comments afterward give a good enough indication of its merits. It is too easy to hit the like button just because something is popular.

hmmm...I wasn't thinking in terms of "popularity" just in terms of efficiency. Someone had a good night...it would be nice to "like" that, etc. But, interesting point.
