Durable basic CPAP???

My CPAP is the small "travelers" model that I bought out of desperation when I was in grad school. I had to do this on the cheap cheap cheap.

Anyhow, it's long out of warranty and I've had it in continual usage. However now it's getting a bit unpredictable.

I don't need anything beyond the basic CPAP. Can you suggest for me a basic DURABLE Cpap?? I need something that will last for more than a couple years. I have to pay out of pocket for this, and I have cash to buy one now, and need to do it.

I am hoping my prescription on record here is still good, I don't want to blow another trip to the doctor for it.

I suggest the DeVilbiss Intellipap with built-in humidifier as a good simple machine. It is quiet, compact, and works very well indeed.

I do already have a good Devillebiss heater humidifier (a universal type).

I like the Fisher & Paykel Sleepstyle 200..Basic model 234. I used mine for 4 years until I got a model that gave me some data.
I lived it...Quiet and no rainout. No separate humidifier required. It is still my back up.

Look up member STL he has equipment for sale that is slightly used or reconditioned. His service is fabulous. His equipment is top of the line. I just bought one of his machines and it is a dream.

I purchased an Intellipap with humidifier for my wife to use and become accustom to until she got a script. I also planned for this to be a backup machine for the two of us. This machine seems to be quite adequate with the only problem being it does not have data unless you purchase the adapter.

New DeVilbiss machines have 5 year warranties on them, and they do offer basic CPAP models. So if durable, basic CPAP is what you're looking for, a 5 year warranty can't be beat. Plus DeVilbiss machines are less expensive than other brands, are made in the USA, and can take direct DC power for travel.

I still have my old "m-series" respironics "brick" with 12,000 hours on it and just got one with the bells and whistles to check thing out. You should be able to find one of those old workhorses for around $100 to tide you over till you can afford bells and whistles.

I used to have one of those. Probably a decade old when it finally died. This is what I had in mind when I posted this lol.

I ordered an Intellipap. Thanks all, I think this will be a much better machine than the one I'm using right now.
