New Wisp nasal mask in stock at cpap.com
Re: New Wisp nasal mask in stock at cpap.com
I just started Medicare (can't imagine how I got so old). How would I go about ordering the wisp so that it is covered by medicare? I don't think that I can order it on line and still get it covered..does anyone know where I could find this mask and have medicare pay for it.

Best bet would a local DME who accepts Medicare that carries the Wisp or will order it for you and they will need a copy of your RX. Whomever you get your supplies from now could order it if they just would.yulcdn wrote:I just started Medicare (can't imagine how I got so old). Sometimes they don't like to special order something that they don't normally carry do to cost to them. Sometimes what Medicare pays for something doesn't leave much profit. Their best profit is when they buy in bulk.
There are a few online sellers who will file Medicare but again they will need a copy of your RX and all that. I am not sure what else they might want to sign you up for. I see them advertised on TV often....have no idea what all is involved.
The Wisp is a Respironics mask...a DME that normally stocks Respironics machines will also normally have a better access to masks at better prices (that's sort of the whole idea of supplying one brand machine).
Find out which DMEs in your area accept Medicare and will file and then ask if they either plan on stocking the Wisp or are willing to order it.

Pugsy, How do you like the TAP PAP. I will probably get it as I use a mouthpiece anyway.

Answered in another thread but for anyone else wondering and not know about the Tap Pap and my thoughts...there is a Tap Pap Review thread where I document my thoughts and other forum members document their thoughts about the Tap Pap.slyltc wrote:Pugsy, How do you like the TAP PAP. Mostly success stories...it's like any mask out there...some love it and some don't.
I think there is a similar thread for the Wisp Review but it has not been easily obtained so not a huge number of people able to review it yet.

I have finally been able to use my new Wisp and love it! I have been using the Quattro FX but had problems with leaks. I was a mouth breather, but I think I have been successful in training myself to keep it closed. So far so good, very comfortable even side sleeping doesn't seem to be an issue.
