Questions on ASV Reports
Some awesome people got me set up with sleephead last night at chat, and I am curious about my numbers. As I have said, my DME is a piece of work. I am in the process of getting a new one, and with her, new equipment. I cannot seem to get a screen shot so I am going to share some numbers here. This is all new to me, so I cannot tell exactly what these mean, but I suspect they are not what they should be.

Re: Questions on reports
What is the model number of your machine? Is it really the ASV model that you have chosen in your profile?
What was the overall leak average for those nights?
Screen shots of reports and how to post them so we can see them explained in this thread.

Re: Questions on reports
For some reason the print screen function is not working on my computer, and the program will not let me select all in order to copy it manually. Not techie, so not sure what else to do. When the kids are up tomorrow, I will see if they can help me.
My machine is the Philips Respironics BiPap autoSV Advanced System One. Is that the same one I have listed? It was a bit confusing

What is the operating system on your computer?
If Windows...would you install EncoreBasic please?
Look in Uncle Bob's signature line for where to get it.
memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=38643
Be sure to read the Help section because it tells you how to use the software.
Is your computer a laptop by any chance? If so you may need to hold the Fn key along with the prt/scr key.
I have to do that with mine but if you have Windows Vista or later you may have the Snipping Tool available and it's a lot nicer to work with than the big prt/scr image.
Explained in this thread..The snipping tool is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I would like to see an image of the detailed report for one or two of your nights.
Examples in this link
EncoreGuide link this will show you examples of what you will see.
http://www.healthcare.philips.com/pwc_h ... _Guide.pdf
Mainly I want to confirm that Encore is showing same reported AHI and stuff as SleepyHead.
Could you also change your machine icony in your profile to the text version of your machine? We can't tell by looking and the tiny image as to what you are using. See how I have mine....
Could you also add the term "ASV" to your subject line....so change it to "Questions on ASV reports"...this will get the attention of the forum members who are more experienced with your machine. It's a very special machine and not a huge number of forum members with experience.
Your leak numbers are appearing to be well within acceptable limits.
Your AHI is not but I want to check to make sure that SleepyHead is reporting correctly and that's why I would like for you to confirm with EncoreBasic. Besides...there is additional detail on the Encore detailed report that would be helpful and easy to spot.
Did you have a special titration sleep study with this ASV machine where they supposedly found the proper pressure settings?
If Windows...would you install EncoreBasic please?

It took me a couple days to figure this out. Hopefully this is what you were looking for.

Re: Questions on reports
The daily detailed reports are all you need...the first graphs are just summary stuff and not enough details.
Can you make the daily detailed report larger? Crop the screen shot image and allow it to be larger???
Do go back and edit your first post in this thread and edit the subject title...to Questions on ASV Reports....to get the forum members who are experienced with this machine and this report input.
What are your machine's settings?
Your OAs and Hyponeas are way too high but I don't understand what you might need to change to get them reduced because I am not real good with ASV machines. Probably more EPAP but let's see what the experienced ASV users say.
I wanted to see if Encore results matched SleeyHead results just in case there was a bug in the SleepyHead software...but no bug.

Re: Questions on ASV Reports
I'll take a stab at my first impressions. However, I agree that clipping just the report would help. It will allow me to blow it up more and better read it.
First of all, your obstructive sleep apnea is a little more active (you have more events) than I would like to see. Ditto on the Hyponeas. Leak rate looks good. Patient triggered breathing could be better. But then, that's part of the reason you have one of these units. So, it's doing its job.
Some questions:

Some questions:
- How long have you been using your ASV unit?
- It sounds as if you are renting the unit at the moment? Is that correct?
- Do you plan on changing models? (such as to Resmed) Or do you plan on sticking with what you have?

Re: Questions on ASV Reports
How long did it take you to fall asleep these nights?
The first 30-45 minutes looks descent and then it's 'off to the races'.
OA's seem to be loosely grouped together.
I'm wondering if it's due to sleep stage(s) and/or body position.

Re: Questions on ASV Reports
I do generally read for a while before I go to sleep. Then I think I fall asleep pretty quickly. Not as quickly as I do without the mask, but I can generally fall asleep anywhere, anytime. I have no idea what my settings are, and the machine is rented. That must be one of those things the DME figured I did not need to know Hopefully the approval will come in today about getting a new person to help with all of this. If they debate me, is there anything specific I can tell them as evidence the current situation is not what it should be? Btw, I am not scheduled to see my DME for almost 3 more months. How often should they check these results?

I'm thinking that since he/she prescribed an ASV machine that they would want to see you back sooner than the 3 months you're scheduled to the see the DME again.
At least that has been my experience - a re-check roughly 6 weeks after every new machine.

Re: Questions on ASV Reports
Can you extract that information from the "Statistics" page of SleepyHead? It has a chart of "Changes to Prescription Settings" so there should be a list of what the settings are. Wouldn't the Encore reports say somewhere also?mountainmaam wrote:I have no idea what my settings are

Is this what you meant? I know when I got the initial call about my study, they said my levels were to be 13 and 23. Not exactly sure how that relates to what I have on the machine. I made an appointment to see my doctor on Friday.
