uk vs usa

Post by vigna » Mon May 22, 2006 10:04 am

the only online uk based website i could find is cpap-europe.com and the prices are much more expensive compared to usa. the choice of avilable masks are also limited. i recently bought my remstar auto cpap machine from cpap.com wit a few masks and even after paying $120 for postage and £118 for customs charges i managed to save over £300.this is nothing but a rip off in uk

Hi vigna
I am not certain but I believe you can get the VAT element back from HM Customs. If you email them, they are a bit slow but very helpful. On Custom Notice 701/7 states that medical equipment used for breathing is exempt VAT.
Best of Luck
