Despite editing the original post, I've gotten a few PMs recently about the VPAP Adapt. I just wanted to confirm in the thread that it has been SOLD. Only the Trilogy 100 is still available.

I would love to have the Trilogy so I wouldn't have to keep moving mine every day, but I just can't afford it.

How does the Trilogy treat hypopnea? and centrals?

I can't answer this from a technical standpoint. Maybe one of the more knowledgeable people can provide a response regarding that.

Although the Trilogy DOES have basic cpap & bipap modes, it is a VENTILATOR with many more therapy modes & features.

The data it provides is NOT geared towards Sleep Apnea (no AHI info or detailed apnea info) and is not compatible with Sleepyhead or Encore. You need DirectView to get the data and that's not easy to get.

It's my understanding (that may not be accurate so please don't torch me if that's the case) -- the Trilogy was designed & marketed by Respironics as the one machine that could do everything. Unfortunately, it's cost and insurance categorization makes it cost prohibitive for most patients, especially those with basic OSA.

Madalot seems to be the only one who could use the Trilogy - but she cannot afford to buy it, so why don't you just donate it to her & ship it to her.

I'll bet if you do that, you will sleep even better than you already do because of the weight loss.

This is one of those situations where it would be nice if we did have a slush fund.
Only one forum member has a need for this type of machine and can't afford it even with the quite fair price tag.
In this situation I would be happy to donate some cash to make this happen but I can't afford the whole price tag myself but if enough of us were to chip in I bet we could make it happen.

You can count me in for a donation - but with 2 requirements.

1st Requirement: Sale price would have to be cut in half (or even more).
If I owned it, I would just donate it to Madalot - period.
But, I don't own it, so I reserve the right to seriously haggle over the price.

2nd Requirement: The Trilogy has to inspected & certified (to be in 100% working order) by someone who really knows a lot about the Trilogy.

An alternative & best scenario would that he would be willing to ship it to Madalot at his cost & give her a reasonable trial period (whatever that is) before he would require payment.

Put me down for $100. No conditions other than it go to the madalot fund. (Wonder if she would be madalittle after getting the machine)

Whoa everyone, hold up a second.

I am OVERWHELMED by this outpouring of generosity. Seriously.

I don't NEED this Trilogy. My insurance covers 80% of the rental on the one I have.

If money weren't an issue (I was independently wealthy), I WOULD buy this just to have another unit AND one I could use for naps (or going somewhere) instead of mine being moved back and forth every day.

Having this unit would be more of a luxury.

You all are astoundingly wonderful to offer to do this, but I don't want anybody doing anything for me under the wrong idea that this is something I NEED.

We are not Doctors, nor DMEs.

Our definition of need fits your circumstances perfectly.

You do need this machine.

Ditto to what Stu has said. If I could have done this on the sly I would have but I can't...so live with it.
What are friends for anyway?

Anyone else wanting to contribute...send me a PM if you don't want to go public or can't match the amounts offered and feel overwhelmed. I am still trying to figure out how to handle the funds (which I don't really want to do) and I need to talk it over with the people who want to help out but I have a couple of ideas...this idea is still in the baby stages but growing fast.

I have no words that can truly express what I am feeling now.

Leaving ME speechless is saying something.....

If this works out somehow (whether it's donated, the price is dropped to my range or I am the recipient of this overwhelming offer of kindness), I promise that I will NEVER NEVER EVER EVER sleep/nap again without using the Trilogy.

You all are just some of the kindest and most caring people I've ever encountered in my life.

I am awaiting a PM reply from OP and it is so far still in the outbox so has not been read.
Right now pledges only...no money has changed hands and won't be changing hands until we verify the Trilogy existence. Pictures, etc.
So far...pledges total about half the asking price.
