settings for resmed autoset spirit 11

hi first time here, first post, i have a resmed series 11 autoset spirit 11. at night i currently press the start button for about 3 seconds , this gives me a full force of air, i then pull my mask on and away i go, looking at the menu today i notice it has a settling mode of between 5 mins and 45 minutes, in this mode the air coming out of the mask is very soft, should i start in this mode say 15 minutes settling or does the machine have to be blowing full force air from the start, if i put it on settling mode does that kick in when needed during the night.

Fergi, Welcome to the forum. Settling and Ramp are comfort features to allow you to fall asleep with less pressure. The amount of time it ramps from low to treatment pressure is what you are looking at.
Any time you stop and restart treatment, it will go back into the 5 to 45 mins of reduced pressure. Depending on what your treatment pressure is, you may choose to limit or not use settling at all.
See the Newbies link in my signature line to fill out the equipment you use... and you probably won't find the (older) Autoset Spirit II. Just type it in the comments field.

i figured that it was what was happening once settling was activated, yes a lot more comfortable to go to sleep with, thanks for the reply.
