Still waiting on DME to bring my S9 auto set
Still waiting on DME to bring my S9 auto set
well. I got a new script for the S9 autoset last week and My DME was supposed to be bringing it out to set it up at my Home one Day this week . Well Here it is Friday and still no S9 autoset. I called the local office yesterday and the Lady told me they were waiting on the s9 autoset to arrive so they could bring it out. I know my DME mainly deals in Respironics machines so I will give them until Monday before I call again. Too much Run around will cause me to shop elsewhere. I have a good DME that I have used for the past five years so I will give them the Benefit of Doubt before I go elsewhere. I am so looking forward to getting this machine to see if My current pressure of 13 needs some adjusting.

As soon as the DME said they had to order it I would have said "never mind" and looked for another. You still have that option, but would need another copy of your prescription. BTW, go get that copy, for YOUR records. Then you can fax it to whomever.
I see you have a relationship with the DME already. I hope they do well by you, but IMO by not calling YOU to tell you the status, they already dropped the ball. This isn't a crutch, where the outcome of not having it is inconvenience. This is a medical device where the outcome of not using it is dangerous to one's health! We all treat it less so because we come across are diagnosis and machines in a happen-stance kind of way, but the fact is, those on machines are the lucky ones ... they got the diagnosis and treatment BEFORE the one bad night when everything lined up and they simply died.
Nowadays I live in fear that I won't have power. I have a backup, but it's too small to do the full night. (I have to fix that, don't I?!!) That's just how I feel, and I think a good DME would make this happen, whatever it took!

Sleep loss is a terrible thing. People get grumpy, short-tempered, etc. That happens here even among the generally friendly. Try not to take it personally.

DannyP, DME are NOT to be trusted !!! If you know FOR A FACT that your PCP faxed the order for a certain model CPAP and your DME plays game with you because of their financial arrangement with a another CPAP mfg. ( which varies with each DME ). I would tell that DME that you will instruct your PCP office to rescind the order they've received and fax it to another DME .
Been there done that, don't be a pawn.

Re: Still waiting on DME to bring my S9 auto set
I have the orginal script in my Possession. I will see what tomorrow brings with my DME. I have been with this DME for almost six years now and No Complaints. Like I said earlier My DME deals mainly in Respironics Machines so there is the possibilty that they did have to order the s 99 auto set. I will call the Local office tomorrow and if nothing is new then I will call the Main office that I inatially spoke to when ordering the s 9 auto set. Time will tell.
