What are you pressure settings? Are you using ramp?

Can you tell us what you are feeling when you can't sleep. Do you feel like you are getting too much air? Too little air? Leaks? Any kind of pain? Do you feel like your mask fits okay?

How long did you use it okay before you started having problems? Anything change during that time? What mask do you use? Have you changed the cushion or pillows?

Give us as many details as you can. Something you say may hit somebody just right and produce the solution you need.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

As has already been said, pinpointing some details may make possible solutions more apparent. It may be you need something about your treatment changed, and that sleep will come once that is figured out.

Is there any chance your sleep study said anything about a problem with limb movements?

my cpap is set to 11 by the DME my doctor said 12 to 15. i do not use the ramp i have tried.. i just lie awake being tired sometimes other times i'm wide awake. i think i'm getting the right amount of air. no pain. i do have two masks. a full face which i dont like as much and do hear alot of air escaping which i have it pretty damn tight and still hear alot of air escaping on my nasal i dont have any leaks. other then what sounds like a little water on the joint of the mask which i just turn it alittle and it goes away. I used the cpap for about 45 days then we moved and i used it the first night at the new place and had trouble ever since. during the sleep study it was not noted that i had limb movement. i have TrueBlue Gel Nasal mask that i use most often. on a side note when i dont use the cpap i will stay awake till about 3 or 5 am just laying there maybe just very small cat naps till i started using the melatonin which i can asleep after 20 min of taken it. and i always wake up once around 250 to 330 which i am able to go back to sleep. i did get a hose cover for the cpap. I also should note that i have to wake up around 630 am m-f and i go to bed around 9.

Have you tried using (much) less melatonin? It's been found that only a very small amount can be effective for most people and it seems to me that 10 is extremely high... and if I had really experimented well, for extended periods of time with lower numbers unsuccessfully, I'd want to know what else might be going on physically before settling for 10 mg every night (which I also know cannot possibly help with apnea).

The Doctor recommends that i take the 10 MG as the highest is 20MG... I also take lisinopril for high blood pressure (around 157/90) I have tried taken the lisinopril without the melatonin and only taken 5MG plus the melatonin and last night i did the 10MG of melatonin and the lisinopril

Hi Meecalii,

With all due respect to your doctor, the 10mg of Melatonin is way too high. Most experts recommend starting out at around .5m and working your way up to around 2 or 3mg if necessary.

Also, have you checked to make sure the lisinopril doesn't cause insomnia?

Good luck to you.
