Three Year Anniversary

Post by park_ridge_dave » Sun Mar 17, 2013 6:26 am

Well, Time flies when you're having fun (or even when you aren't )

It seems like just last week the DME tech was setting me up with my CPAP system. However, the calendar says that was Saint Patrick's Day in 2010. Until then I had done some lurking here, but, soon after 3/17/2010 I got serious about this forum.

Throughout the last three years the one constant amongst the many sleep deprived nights has been this forum and the dozens of fellow members who lent a helping hand when I hit a "rocky patch". There are too many to list here, but, to each and everyone I want to extend a BIG THANK YOU You all have always been there

This forum is the reason that I persevered when things seemed "bleak". Today I get worried if my AHI is greater than 2.0 (it started at 16.0). Now it is a rare night that I don't enjoy a good night's sleep.

So to all the "Newbs" it can be worked out! Keep asking questions until you get your answers. I did and it works.

OBTW Happy St. Patty's Day

Park: glad it's all worked out for you. Though your struggle seems to be worse than mine, I am as grateful to the folks here as you are. That's why I'm still here to help newbies and still learn something myself. Ole' Pugsy keeps me in line!! My biggest payback is to help someone who is really struggling finally whip this thang'. It's a breath of fresh air to hear from folks like you.

I'm less than one month in. This form has been great helping me to understand my diagnosis.. and helping me with my treatment. Glad you stuck with it and its going well for you..

Since you welcome noobs to ask questions I have one for you I see you have the mirage quattro. Have you tried the Quattro FX? Wondering what the differences are between these masks... They look the same, just that yours has a headband added. I I have the FX, and plan to get the mask you are using for a backup, or even to try it to see if it maybe leaks less than the FX...

I saw somewhere on here, that sizing could differ between the quattro fx and the mirage quattro.. so that leads me to believe it has a different cushion, meaning they are not interchangeable?

Welcome to the forum Sorry I didn't get right back to you, but I was out of town yesterday and didn't log-in.

I don't know the detail differences between them (the masks) but if you search I think the reviews on both are posted. If you can't find them, or they don't exist, just post your question as a new thread. Also, if you want to try a new/different mask order it with the return insurance. That way you won't be out the whole nine yard$.

OBTW search for my comments (in Pugsy's thread) on the new TAP PAP Mask, It is now my NUMERO UNO mask with the Quattro as a back up.

I hope that I was able to help you as that's what it's all about here "paying it forward"!

Cheers,

Dave
