I know this is kind of an emergency, but for a more long term solution maybe you could try Modest Needs.

It's an organization that gives out grants to people who need them. A friend of mine got a grant to help pay for her son's Autism therapy.

I hope things work out for you and you can find a CPAP soon!

Awesome.
A word of advice to anyone else who finds themselves in this position: If someone from the DME comes to pick up your machine, simply refuse to give it to them. Make them get a court order. That will at least buy some time so you don't put your life on the line.
Imagine how going to court to remove life sustaining equipment from someone would play out in a O'care world.

Special thanks to this angel who is assisting me! I had yet to post anything here not out of ungratefulness but out of respect for squid13's anonymity. I was planning on asking him if it was ok to acknowledge his kind act when we meet later today. But as he has posted it here I now feel it is acceptable to thank him publicly here on this forum, and I hope I am able to find the words to also do so in person when we meet later. It gives me great pleasure to realize there is so much good in people despite how awful the world sometimes appears. I also want to acknowledge that a second wonderful angel on this forum also offered to provide me with a machine. I will not name him but he knows who is was and I hope he also knows how grateful I was for his offer. The people on this forum are wonderful, caring, and helpful with both advise and support and I will be eternally thankful that I found this place 8 months or so ago. I promise if or when I am in the position to do so I will pay forward the kindness shown to me here. I wish I could find all the right words to express myself and all that I am feeling, but I just can't seem to get it out. Thank you to squid13, to my anonymous offerer, and all who responded to my post.

I think you did a fine job. Your appreciation IS coming through.

I was reading this thread earlier, trying to figure out how *I* could help, but then I saw you were getting a machine.

My thanks to Squid also for helping you out.

This forum IS a wonderful place.

This forum is a wonderful example of a group of diverse but loving and caring people. I am honoured to be a member of this group. This is not the first time people here have done this kind of wonderful thing.

Good luck memapenguin - all the kindness here should help you face the rest of your challenges. You know you are not alone and miracles can happen, that alone is very powerful medicine.

Ditto to what Cosmo has said.
I have some odd ball spare parts for some of the older machines I could pass on depending on what machine.

Squid is awesome. He sent me a mask and only charged me shipping. Very cool of him to do that ... even nicer of him to do this... makes up for the dickish Dme.
