Weird feeling
I am on my 5th day on my cpap machine and have noticed a weird feeling during the day when I'm awake and not on machine. The best way I can describe it is it feels like when you first put on the mask and the ramp is on low, like 1 or 2, and you breathe through your nose and it feels like you're not getting enough air. Is this something I will adjust to?
Re: Weird feeling
When does this happen?

Re: Weird feeling
Need to know what type of equipment you are using. Resmed has the EPR function. It drops the pressure on exhale so it is easier to breath out. Still, post your equipment so we can help you. Sheriff

Re: Weird feeling
I've noticed alot today. Maybe my nose is dry?
Re: Weird feeling
No, breathing difficulties during the day are not common and certainly not usually associated with cpap therapy.Coastgirl32 wrote:have noticed a weird feeling during the day when I'm awake and not on machine.
Do you have any other health issues?
If it continues I would be discussing it with my medical care team.
Often we like to put all our eggs in the cpap and OSA basket and then blame every little thing that goes on with us on the machine or OSA. There are other health conditions that can and do impact our lives that are totally unrelated to OSA or cpap.

Re: Weird feeling
What also could be happening is that the muscles you use to breathe are getting a workout, exhaling against the pressure. People report this in many ways from chest pains, back pains to breathing discomfort.
Right now I am very stiff from lifting my mother off the floor, nor really sore but when I need to move they feel like they really don't want to. I have experienced that after a lot of coughing too (my asthma presents as "cough until you throw up") If this sensation doesn't go away soon you need to get it checked out.

I notched a similar thing. I thinks was the heated humidity I used. The moisture seemed to clear my sinuses or the first time in years.

Re: Weird feeling
Are you breathing shallow?
You should be breathing deeply from the gut, not up higher in the chest.
Most stressed americans breathe shallow and fast.
