Apparently you need to update your profile with the new machine...

Change my machine in my profile, good point. when I first looked to reset it, I could not find a Resmed S7, now I find I should have looked on down to find a VPAP Malibu.

How long did it take everyone to learn the "lingo"? I'm reading all the posts, but half the time, I have no idea what everyone is talking about. I'm Googling as much as I can, but this is hard to understand. I want to be a seasoned cpaper...lol Anyway...learning a lot and I really do appreciate it. Going to try sleeping propped up with my neck back instead of down tonight. Got the chin strap on order. I refuse to stop using the machine, because I know it's helping me. I NO LIKE A BIG BELLY.....

One more comment if I may....

How important is distilled water? I've never used it. I use tap water. I live in MA. air is ok.

Main reason for the distilled water recommendation is that tap water (depending on where you live) often has a lot of mineral content and will make the plastic tank look yucky.
Won't really hurt you but it's a visual thing though it is really easy to clean with a bit of vinegar and water (like cleaning the coffee maker). Distilled water let's me omit having to deal with vinegar which to me smells awful.
Where I live the water has a lot of minerals in it.
If you find the plastic tank getting cloudy looking then you know you have some minerals adhering to the plastic.
Using distilled water really isn't a life or death issue...mainly visual cleanliness and personal preferences. There are people all over the world using tap water...not everyone has a cheap easy access to distilled.

Hmmm, if we don't have one, we should have some kind of glossary of acronyms, as there are so many (not even counting the ones Mollette/Muffy makes up).

Sometimes, I am completely lost as to what means what!! Folks just seem to have their own language here, and I think its great, but I am completely lost. lol
Not giving up though...going to keep reading, and perhaps I will eventually "decipher" all the initials....too many to count, for sure... Along with me, the newbies must be going through it too.. This cpap thing is like a different language. But I am grateful that I have finally discovered it. So sick of dragging my arse. Starting to feel so much better...but then again...hate the bloat..lol

Now try to adjust your pillows or sleeping position such that your head and neck is at the same angle. Some people find this helps, some don't. It may be too uncomfortable or too hard on your neck.

That position would cause be AHI to skyrocket. I'm surprised it doesn't cause your throat to close off easier...
That's pure speculation. Try it and see.

Can someone help me. I've been hearing 2 different ways of neck angle to help prevent the air getting into my stomach. I've heard many times that I should doing the above, but I have also heard I should be doing the opposite. That my neck should be extended back to open the airway more. Any thoughts. Thank you.
You'll have to try it for yourself and see if either way helps you. Some people may find tucking the chin helps, some may find tilting the head back may help. Some may find neither helps. Also try sleeping on one side and then try sleeping on the other side. Some find EPR/Flex helps or makes it worse. What works for you is what matters.

What makes you think it is speculation? I didn't mean it as such ... I have indeed tried it. I know for a fact that off my neck is bent forward I can't breathe well, but if it is bent the other way I have leads difficulty.

It doesn't affect me that way. If someone's having aerophagia, they can try it themselves and see how it works for them. Like many suggestions for CPAP problems, it's not "do this," it's "try this and see what happens for you." Not everyone has the same results.

I think the O2 and AHI are more important than getting aerophagia
I've been trying lower settings the last few days and I still feel sick so I'm going back to higher ASV settings

it's strange only klonopin+the ASV seems to work for me

On the taping, I have used various tapes (for injuries to hold on gauze, not to keep my mouth closed) and found that Johnson & Johnson's paper tape is the only tape that doesn't irritate my skin. Might want to give that a try. I find the Band Aid brands of band aids and whatnot (except the flexible fabric) are extremely irritating as are the Nexcare brand but most of these make some kind of paper tapes (which I find gentler in general but again, some of the adhesives are so irritating).
