Last night I had a nightmare of epic proportions that I want to tell you about.
I dreamed I was at my doctors office for a follow up to my first month of CPAP. I began to tell the doc how awesome I felt and that I had been offered 4 different jobs since starting treatment (all true). Everything was going great.
He then tells me he is so glad the treatment is going well, but that he needed to take me off Cpap for 30 days to see how well I would do without.
I freaked out! I told him there is no way he could have my machine. I started frantically looking for places to hide it from him, the closet, under the bed, anywhere so he could not take it.
He kept insisting on me handing it over and I just kept yelling No!
I finally woke up, thanking God for my machine. I laughed a bit, with some relief that it was all a bad dream.
Kinda stupid, but relevant and thought I'd share
Funny Nightmare
Re: Funny Nightmare
And insurance companies try to tell us we're not compliant! They plainly haven't polled all of us who love our machines !
Re: Funny Nightmare
I had a goofball mightmare, too. Dreamed that I was at the high school where I taught. Could not find my classroom for quite a while but when I did, everyone was looking weirdly at me and remarking at how I looked: WITH MY CPAP MASK ON! Have never ever had a dream of that sort. Regardless of the screwy dream, had a quality night's rest.

Re: Funny Nightmare
I have this fear that I will be required by Medicare to repeat my diagnostic sleep study.
(The original lab is not accredited.) Only a matter of time until it invades my dreams.

Re: Funny Nightmare
The night after my sleep study, I had a dream that the sleep doctor would not see me or prescribe a machine for another 6 months. I wanted my machine now! My asleep brain knew how much better the previous night had been and was demanding I get me one of those!
A few weeks later, I took my mask off in the night, and I had a dream that I was in a building, carrying my machine from room to room looking for a power outlet so that I can plug in my machine and go to bed. Again, my asleep brain wanted the machine, and knew it wasn't on.
Also, no more scary dreams. I used to have dreams about people chasing me (out of breath), before cpap.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?
Re: Funny Nightmare
Awesome, loved the story! I agree, they'd have to pry my cpap away, no way would I give it up willingly... I actually wrote my insurance company and thanked them for my cpap machine! They gave me a great Christmas present by paying all the purchase costs for my Autoset, humidifier and associated parts. By contract, they could have forced me to rent for 90 days, leading to a new insurance year and new deductible but they paid in full after an excellent therapy response and a 100% utilization rate for the first 21 days!Hogsrul wrote:Last night I had a nightmare of epic proportions that I want to tell you about.

Re: Funny Nightmare
, but seriously Hogsrul, you gotta camouflage your machine or something, that doc might send the dme tech tonight to try that again. There's only so much the collective can do for you.
Give him names, but never the machine!

Dude, you are hooked. You are officially a hose-head now. Enjoy the dreams since it is a good chance to see what your subconscious brain is doing behind your back. It can be quite funny.
