Nasal mask. Any suggestions?
My Wisp nasal mask headgear broke last night. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good replacement?
I will be getting an Opus nasal pillow mask in the mail in a few days. Just looking for a nasal one so I can switch them off when one or the other gets annoying.
Thanks, folks!!

Re: Nasal mask. Any suggestions?
If you look at cpap.com under nasal masks, you can see how well rated masks are. Keep in mind that for every person who loves a mask, you can find one who hates it. It's so individual. That said, I've never had any luck with ones that are rated relatively low, so I still turn to the higher rated masks when I'm looking for options.
Once you've passed the breaking-in face with a nasal pillow mask and like it, there shouldn't really be a reason why you'd want to switch to a nasal mask (at least not one I can think of). Obviously if you're having issues with the pillows, such as sores in your nostrils, you can get relief by switching to a nasal mask, and if you're having nose bridge irritation with a nasal mask, you can switch to pillows. But once you find a mask that works, the only reason I can think of as to why you'd want to switch to an entirely different kind is if you have a cold and simply can't breathe through your nose and need a full face mask.

Resmed Nasal Activa is pretty much leak proof and fits loosely, very loosely. Make sure your settings in your CPAP or APAP are correct for whatever nasal mask you change to. For Activa, Resmed says the setting in an S9 is "nasal."

Hi Sister B
I like the Activa too because I used to love to sleep on my belly or the sides. This is the nasal mask I have been using since the beginning, I get used very fast to it.
I move all around while asleep (active sleeper), the Activa cushion is designed with a kind of bellow which prevents leaks when you moves. As Suddenly Worn Out told this mask, you wear it loosely which is really good.

My ESON is my BFF, I am a very active sleeper and I like to smush my face into my pillow. I haven't had any issues with it.

I agree with JO'M, the Eson is a very low profile nasal mask. Easy to clean, good seal, and for me does not hurt my upper lip or the bridge of my nose. I have not been able to Smush it yet, but working on itJO'M wrote:My ESON is my BFF, I am a very active sleeper and I like to smush my face into my pillow. I haven't had any issues with it.

I think the older the cushion, the better it smushes. When I got all my new toys last week, I immediately swithched to a new cushion. Not very smushable, I switched back to my old cushion until the weekend, then I cleaned the new cushion and soaked it in hotish water. It smushed much better now.Always tired wrote:I agree with JO'M, the Eson is a very low profile nasal mask. Easy to clean, good seal, and for me does not hurt my upper lip or the bridge of my nose.
