Encore Basic and Windows 8

Hi all!!
I've been using Sleepyhead software, and wanted to compare my data from it with Encore Basic. I'm running Windows ver 8 and am unable to install EncoreBasic. I've tried running the install as administrator, and in compatibility modes but to no avail. Any suggestions?

Encore Basic will not install on a Windows 8 system. The problem is with the installer.
Do you have Basic installed on another computer? If so you can copy the already installed program to disc and manually put it on the Windows 8 computer and it will work just fine. Several people have done it. Sometimes the Help section doesn't make the move but the program will run on Windows 8 once you get it on there. It just won't install.

I actually had a virtual machine running Windows 7 on my Windows 8 box just so I could use EB. I just tried this and it worked like a charm. This will make it much easier, and quicker.

Do you have another, non Windows 8 computer? If you do, install it there, and then copy or move 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Respironics' and 'C:\Users\Public\Documents' from the pc you installed it on over to the Windows 8 computer.

The problem is not with the actual program, just the installer. so if you have another computer to install it on first this will work. If not, I don't know if there's another way to do it.
