90deg. Electrical Connector @ Machine (S9Auto)
Does any one have concerns about the bend this connector puts in the power cable? Every time I look at the machine I look at the connector and wonder why a straight plug was not used. I am just about at the point that I am going to drill a hole in my cheap table top so that I don't have to look at that bend in the cord. Does anyone have a straight power cord connector that they use and if so please give me a link? I don't want to move the machine to the edge of the table as my essential oils is directly behind the air intake.
This old age thing must finally be making me parionerd about something.

I think repeated removal will have a greater effect on the cord than if it stays bent and in the same position. But I still don't like it.
I keep mine on the edge of the nightstand.

A straight plug would tend to pull out easier. I have a respironics so I don't know if you have the same sort of barrel connector or something different. Angle plugs tend to stay in better (whether we're talking about xPAP, laptop, whatever).
Of course you probably don't move it around as much so it's not that big a deal...

Sleep loss is a terrible thing. People get grumpy, short-tempered, etc. That happens here even among the generally friendly. Try not to take it personally.

You're all correct.. the cable tends to fail at stress points. Repeated flexing and un-flexing will eventually take its toll. If you don't move it much, a hole in the tabletop will also help the unit from following gravity to the floor.cosmo wrote:I think repeated removal will have a greater effect on the cord than if it stays bent and in the same position. On the other hand, I suspect the power supply is susceptible to early breakdown; at least that's my assumption for why they seperated the power supply. In my S7, S8 models, the power supply is built in, and subject to water damage when the xPAP becomes airborne.

I've got those 90 degree bends everywhere and in everything... never seen one fail before the device itself fails.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

I've got plenty broken headphones cables and laptop connectors that will say otherwise

I wonder what router bit we should use, for a through notch to the back of the shelf-
-fillet or chamfer at the upper surface. Definitely sounds like a plan.

You can also raise the machine on a platform off of the nightstand. I use a hose lift system so it doesn't matter what the height is for me.

S9's have been out in the field in large quanties for close on 3 years now. No one here has reported a broken power connection over that timebearcatx16 wrote:Does any one have concerns about the bend this connector puts in the power cable?

Thanks to all for the information. Miss CF, the last fillet I had was at Longhorn on Valentine's Day and it sure was tasty, please pm me with you address and I'll send you my $9 wallyworld tv tray for a finish, I'll even pay shipping both ways. On 2nd thoughts I married a blond and the tray is blond I think I'll keep it just in case someone knows a blond tv tray joke. I think a 3/8 or maybe 4/8 drill bit should help on minimizing my concerns.chunkyfrog wrote:I wonder what router bit we should use, for a through notch to the back of the shelf-
