S9 autoset light comes on in middle of night
S9 autoset light comes on in middle of night
I have had the S9 autoset for a couple of weeks. Two nights ago I started to use the humidifier, slimline hose. I set it at 2.0. First night went well, but there was a lot of water left so I did not refill. The second night I woke up to a blinking light. I figured it was out of water so I shut off the humidifier and went back to sleep. (There was water in it in the morning). Last night, with a full tank, I woke up twice to the light coming on (not blinking this time). There was a message that the humidifier was on. I also checked and during the time the light came on I had several centrals (I don't usually have any).
So what is going on? I can not find any indication that the humidifier light should come on or that it should blink. One guess is that perhaps the low setting (2.0) makes the humidifier come on and off and when it comes back on it lights up and gives a message.
Anyone have any ideas?

Do you have the Climateline hose? If so, put the machine into climateline mode and set the temp. The auto mode with Climateline works the best.

could be that the humidifier cover was not locked all the way. Or the latch holding it connected to the flow generator was not latched all the way. I never had those lights switching on and off, or blinking.

What exactly was the message about the humidifier? My first guess is that your machine rebooted. A power glitch could cause that. When mine reboots it says "Climate control enabled", but depending on your settings, you might get a different message.

Re: S9 autoset light comes on in middle of night
The message was "Humidifier enabled". It comes up every few seconds. Also, the warm up feature does not work. I press the button for 3 seconds, the warm up comes on, goes right off and the menu cycles through humidifier and ramp. Water does not heat in any mode. I have re-seated several times. I believe either the humidifier is defective or the control unit is defective. Will go to the DME tomorrow.

Sounds like you got a bum unit. Take it back and exchange it for another one. What you are describing is not right.jbernardk wrote:The message was "Humidifier enabled". It comes up every few seconds. maybe its defective but to make sure, unplug the S9. take water tank out to avoid any damage, push the black button to disconnect H5i from the S9jbernardk wrote:The message was "Humidifier enabled". turn power on, align the H5i and S9 and push them together until they click into place ... "Humidifier enabled" comes for seconds and disappear
the warm-up only comes on when the humidifier connected correctly to the S9
Re: S9 autoset light comes on in middle of night
When you do that, make sure the electrical contacts a clean. It does sound like you're going to need a replacement. My guess now would be that you've got a bad solder joint, but there's an outside chance a dust bunny is interfering with the connection.sol wrote:maybe its defective but to make sure, unplug the S9. take water tank out to avoid any damage, push the black button to disconnect H5i from the S9jbernardk wrote:The message was "Humidifier enabled". Re: S9 autoset light comes on in middle of night
Just got back from the DME. I demonstrated the problem, tried a new humidifier and that solved the problem. DME gave me a heated hose and let me keep the old water tank, so it was a worthwhile trip.
