Hose cover
What's your favorite hose cover? I'm getting condensation in my tank and hose despite the fact that I keep my room fairly warm at night. Looking for someone that's easy to put on and is soft but not slippery. Thanks.

Re: Hose cover
I currently use a SnuggleHose fleece hose cover. It has worked pretty well for me except for more recently when we have had some really cold nights (we do not use a heater in our house) and I was getting a little rainout. Another one I have heard about is from Pad-A-Cheek and it is probably a lot easier to get on and off because it has a zipper, plus I have heard that it is a little better at insulating the hose and is even more snuggly then the SnuggleHose cover. When I get some pending bills paid I will be ordering the one from Pad-A-Cheek.

Resmed's cover with the zippers.
$15 w/free ship. Non slimline version is better since you can use it on standard size and slim size. I have it on a slimline now.

Re: Hose cover

I have both of the Resmed covers but the blue one is the only one you really need.
Resmed needs to send me some referral cheques for all of the time I recommend their hose covers

Re: Hose cover
You can use socks... cut a hole in the foot-end... a temporary fix... Heck, get a Hose Buddy and never mess with a hose again....

Re: Hose cover
Do heated hose covers exist?
I've seen heated aftermarket hoses, but bot hose covers. I don't like those because it is expensive to replace the hose. A heated cover would solve this issue.

A person can make their own heated hose with reptile heater cable if they are handy like that.
It used to be commonly discussed here on the forum back before the store bought heated hoses and the only heated hose available was the Aussie for $150.

Re: Hose cover
Just the post that I was looking for! I'm getting a kitten the end of March, and thought I'd better protect my hose - plus make it more cozy. I know there are several to choose from. I'm going with the pada cheeck as it looks so soft. Thanks everyone.

I plan to buy a reptile heated cord after my upcoming trip. I'd really like to crank my humidity up to 4 or 5 to see how it affects me. But with the temperature I keep my room, 3 is about the most I can set it without significant rain out.
