Hose hanger or headboard?

Post by bucksbeek » Wed Feb 13, 2013 2:02 pm

What is the actual difference?? Right now my hose is slung over my headboard but I'm having problems with it sliding down the back of the headboard..it doesn't necessarily stay where I want it too and it can pull my very lightweight mask up. If I have it hanging off the side of the bed..it pulls the mask down. I have a super high bed (need a step stool to get in it) Does a hose hanger do the same thing as hanging over the headboard? Don't want to invest if it's not going to make much of a difference. Thanks!

Easy to make your own, too. It can be as simple as a 3-M Command Hook and an elastic band.

I made a little pulley system out of a clothesline pulley and an elastic hairband. Works great. http://maskarrayed.wordpress.com/2010/0 ... your-hose/ (this one used metal sewing bobbins, but the clothesline pulley works better).

This is one post that always manage to pop up about once a month. I always read them because you the ingenuity you folks have never ceases to amaze me. You think you've seen all the home made hose hanger devises, and then someone comes up with different and clever conclaption.
To answer your question, you can use tie wraps, velcro, rubberbands or women's squishy thangs they use for their hair to mount the hose up. It appears that you need to decide if you need a hose hanger or not. You can then buy one (like I did) or come up with some of the great ideas that have popped up on this forum before. Do a search on "hanger" and see what pops up. I wouldn't use the search word "hose" because you'll get a bunch of threads you may not want.

The most important thing is the connector. I use a telephone cord type expansion thingy - it needs to hold the hose up away from you, yet move with you when you move instead of pulling on your mask.

Last night I wrapped a sock around the top of my headboard and secured it with a piece of duct tape, and then looped the hose through it. Worked great!

Treat yourself to a hose hanger
This is the same set up I have at home, for travel I use a 3M Command hook and a hair scrunchy/hair elastic. Scrunchy holds the hose and then I cut a hair elastic in half and use that to tie to the hook.
