Booorrrring! Another melatonin question...
Booorrrring! Another melatonin question...
Night before last, I took 2.5 mg of melatonin before bed - the first time I have tried it. No effect whatsoever. I was awake for 90 mins. before falling asleep. Last night, I tried the same dose again. I fell asleep quickly, and slept well all night, but this morning I am feeling very sad. I read in a previous thread that melatonin should not be taken if you have depression. I do have depression, but it is controlled by Effexor. Does that still count, and should I not take melatonin? I was trying the melatonin because I had been taking one Tylenol PM when I felt I needed a little help, and wanted to go with something more natural. Any advice?

I take 200mg of Zoloft and had the same experience while on Melatonin. I personally try to stay away from it since I had a similar experience. I would recommend avoiding it.

Yep, that's what I thought. Kind of stating the obvious, wasn't I?
