First night. How did I do?

Post by Annabelle » Wed Jan 30, 2013 9:29 am

Last night went well, I think. I slept 8 hrs. and only woke up once. This morning I woke up before my alarm with no headache! My machine says AHI 1.4 and mask leaks 4L/min. I have no idea if this is good. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thank you.

That is fabulous! Many people don't manage 8 hours the first night! your AHI is good too. And with no headache you KNOW this is going to work for you.

holey moley!!

you did awesome!!

I was lucky to keep the mask on for 3 hours my 1st night AND I'd give almost anything to have an AHI & leak rate as low as yours!!

Good job. Those numbers are excellent. Keep doing what you're doing.

You're way ahead of most people on their first night.

Wow, I'm glad I'm off to a good start. I think I got really lucky with the nasal pillows...they are very comfortable. And the RT said I had good nostrils!?!

Great news! It looks like you may be one of our "ducks"! Do you know what your pressures are?

Anabelle,

You hit a home run the first time! While the numbers are great, the fact that you woke up with no headache is real world proof that the treatment is having a positive effect.

The first goal is always to get a full night of sleep on the machine. You checked that one off the very first night. The next goal is to get as much sleep as you can for the first week to 10 days to try to make a dent in your sleep debt. I'd do that even if you have to take a little time off of work or start your work day a little later. In this case, it is perfectly OK to carve out some time and take care of yourself first.

DoriC - my machine says that my pressure was 8. It's an auto so I'm not sure if that's the highest, average or what.
