Best place to get your CPAP machine and mask in Dalton area

Post by rainydaywoman » Wed Jan 30, 2013 2:48 pm

Hi, I'm brand new to this site and have just been diagnosed with severe apnea. Unfortunately, I am a mouth breather so they recommended the full face mask, I had alot of trouble with it during the sleep study, but I saw where others try to use nasal mask and tape the mouth.

My questions: Where is the best place in Dalton GA or Chattanooga TN area to get your mask (friendlyness, willingness to help and answer questions, etc)

Also, since I was written a precription for a particular mask (RESMED Quattro) do I have to use that one?

Can I get my prescription changed? IF you get one mask and try it for a few weeks and it's just not working for you, can you return it? Get a different type?

I really want to be compliant with this, but I know it mostly boils down to have the proper mask. I am a very petite woman with a small face and nose and when they used the Quattro the night of my titration study, it was okay for maybe an hour, then it started to press uncomfortably on my bridge of nose, and every time I turned I had leakage and every time I would fall asleep and relax, THE MACHINE WOULD kinda suction to my face and make noise. I asked the technician about it, but she had no idea what I meant. I know this is long, but any and all replies and advice would be greatly, greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!!

I'm kinda close to you, but probably not close enough for you to use my DME. I live in the Maryville/Knoxville area and use Blount Home Health which is associated with our local hospital. My only complaint so far is that they are a bit overpriced as compared to buying supplies from this forum's sponsor. The RT is awesome and billing is doing their best to get us the most out of our insurance. Also, unrelated to cpap, but we had that day of icy roads last week and they called ALL of their o2 patients to ask if they needed an extra tank delivered so no one would run out. I chose them because they were the one that my doctor's nurse said had the best RT and least complaints. Now that my deductible has reset, I order from our sponsor.
